This area was affectionately nicknamed "Captain’s Row", as it was once a prestigious residential area popular with local sea captains. Whitby is still a proud seafaring town, where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood and discover more about the local heritage from Viking invasions, smugglers who risked their lives with a network of tunnels from the cliffs, heroic rescue missions from the life boat crew, and pioneers including James Cook who discovered Australia among other destinations.

The apartment enjoys elevated views over the harbour, both from the garden and the living area. The dining table in the bay window is perfectly positioned so that you can take in the scenery. There is a spacious open plan living area, with the dining area plus living room. One of the charming original features is the decorative Victorian fireplace. Separate from the living area there is a compact kitchen, with a small two ring hob and an oven. There is a modern shower room and a generously sized double bedroom.

Great location for all that Whitby has to offer. Bathroom and kitchen are compact but not an issue as we ate out. The lounge area is comfortable and a good size with an amazing view. Overall a lovely 3 night stay and we will be back on our next visit to Whitby.
