While the steep walk to the harbour and the size of the beds may not suit everyone, the positives far outweigh any minor drawbacks.
Cleanliness is consistently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, tidy, and well-maintained. Only one review mentioned the outside looking unkempt, but the interior cleanliness was still praised.
The location is highly regarded for its proximity to Staithes, the harbour, and local walks. The dedicated parking is a significant advantage. Some guests noted the steep hill, but overall, the setting is considered excellent for exploring the area.
Guests frequently mention the cottage's cosy and comfortable atmosphere, with warm heating and comfortable beds. A few noted the beds may be small for taller guests, but most found the accommodation very comfortable.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, with adequate kitchen utensils, hot water, WiFi, and secure outdoor space for dogs. A couple of minor suggestions for additional kitchen items were made, but overall, facilities are praised.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with biscuits, milk, and even dog treats. While these gifts are mentioned, please note they are not guaranteed for every stay. The host's responsiveness and friendliness are also frequently commended.

There is a golf course and driving range in Brotton, 6¾ miles away, and at Scaling Reservoir, 7¼ miles, there is sailing and fishing. There is a leisure centre 2 miles down the road and a 2-minute stroll down the cobbled street brings you to the centre of the picturesque fishing village with its small harbour nestling beneath rugged cliffs. Step back in time and walk the quaint narrow passages, as Captain James Cook himself must have done. Here in Staithes there are village shops, pubs, cafés and a restaurant, and in 2020 the village was featured on the BBC programme ’Gone Christmas Fishing’ with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Why not travel on Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Express (the North Yorkshire Moors Railway) through ’Heartbeat’ country, or visit Whitby and its famous abbey which is 11 miles away.

Lovley little cottage which is nice and quiet and very cozy.Although dogs are allowed maybe better suitable for small dogs as we took a 3 year old greyhound and he struggled getting comfortable in the small front room area. The welcome pack was much appreciated and there was excellent information pack about the area.
