Situated within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, these carefully converted barns now provide two beautiful holiday cottages in a secluded, south facing, courtyard setting with stunning, uninterrupted views over Ryedale. Riccal Heads (ITS) has a large dining table which can seat 10 people, perfect if both properties are booked together. The area is excellent for both walking and cycling and the picturesque villages and quaint market towns await exploration. Hutton le Hole (1½ miles), is home to the Ryedale Folk Museum, giving an insight into traditions of the past, Helmsley
(10 miles) has a weekly market, an abundance of traditional teashops and the historic attractions of Duncombe Park, the Walled Garden and Norman castle ruins. Easily accessible is Dalby Forest with its 9 mile scenic drive and an award-winning visitor centre. The North York Moors Steam Railway offers a step back in time and a leisurely way to enjoy the scenery. Departing from Pickering
(10 miles) it passes through Goathland and Grosmont on its way to Whitby, with its stunning coastline and ancient abbey. Nunnington Hall, Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey are close by and the historic city of York just an hour’s drive away. Riding and golf available locally. Shop 5 miles, pub ¾ mile.

Very quiet location on working farm with private outside seating at side of cottage, Underfloor heating, lovely shower and bathroom, super comfy bed with no outside noise, slept like logs every night. Footpaths and bridleways in every direction including on the farm lead to a pub eventually! enjoyed breadmaking facilities and collecting some eggs from village. Will return many thanks.

Wow what a beautiful place to stay with absolutely amazing views.This is so dog friendly and very safe, our two little ones loved it there. The Wests - is like stepping into your own home with everything you need there. And the lovely touch from Judi the bread maker and the ingredients that she supplies to make your own which we did and was lovely. Thank you Judi for a lovely week and we look forward to coming back again. 😊

We loved our short break at The Wests and would recommend it wholeheartedly. The cottage is warm, spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The location is excellent for exploring a wide area though it is also very nice to watch the wildlife from the patio. Thank you Judi for the wine and especially the bread maker and ingredients, that is a wonderful touch!
