The Lodge is full of homely charm, with its kitchen boasting all the essentials the designated chef will need for preparing tasty treats and picnics, as well as a handy washing machine for cleaning up those muddy clothes after a day in the countryside. Look forward to snuggling up in the ample living/dining room, where you can enjoy your favourite book on the sofa, or gather around the dining table, open the fizz and toast to a wonderful holiday. At night (or for holiday naps), guests can retire to the charmingly-decorated double bedroom, or the delightful single with an en-suite shower room, perfect for beating everyone to the bathroom in the morning or freshening up before heading out for the evening. If you don’t feel like cooking, then in just 2 minutes you can walk down to the The Millstone Pub & Restaurant for authentic food and drink, and meet up with locals who will love to chat about their village and their history. Outside you can enjoy playing ball with your canine companion as you sip a cup of coffee at the lovely dining table and take in the fresh country air. Shopping is easy--Omagh has a range of supermarkets, and the Glenpark Estate Farm Shop is just five minutes drive in the other direction, while for last-minute essentials, the local shop is open till midnight every day. If you’re looking for more activity, then the picturesque county town of Omagh on the banks of the Strule River has something to suit all tastes, with two cinemas, an arts centre, pubs, cafés, and a splendid swimming pool and leisure centre. Prepare a picnic and enjoy scenic walks taking in the magnificent landscape at the Gortin Glen Forest Park, with its lovely waterfalls, mature woodland and ancient uplands. Enjoy the thrills of the mountain bike trails, or wild swimming in the picturesque Gortin Lakes. Or take a breathtaking drive through the Sperrins mountain range. Make a journey back in time with a trip to the Ulster American Folk Park, where you can expect demonstrations of traditional crafts, such as basket weaving and printing, and meet costumed characters along the way that will regale you with tales of the past and stories of emigrants crossing the Atlantic for a new life. It’s a captivating day for all the family to enjoy. For those into their classic cars, the Abingdon Collection is not to be missed, with its vast collection of bicycles, cars, motorcycles and war memorabilia spanning over 50 years. It is a real treat and just a couple of minutes away in the village of Gortnagarn. For something a little further afield, head off to the fabulous Fermanagh Lakelands, home to activities that will encourage you to try something new with world-class fishing, scenic walks, exploring the Marble Arch Caves, cycling or just cruising the lakes at your own pace. The cosmopolitan cities of Enniskillen and L’Derry are both 45 minutes away, and the Antrim and Donegal coasts just over an hour. The potential day trips are endless.
