A delightful, mid-terrace cottage situated on the main street through the small town of Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway. Nestling between the coast and the splendour of the Galloway Hills, it’s ideally located for a holiday in this beautiful part of Scotland. Step into the entrance hall, which then leads off into a comfortable sitting room, an ideal place to relax with loved ones. From the sitting room, there are three steps down into the kitchen, and you will find two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. The back door from the kitchen opens onto a small decked area with steps leading down to a lawned garden, where a morning coffee can be enjoyed before setting off and exploring this wonderful area.
Gatehouse of Fleet is an attractive town with much to offer the visitor, including four pubs, a selection of shops and a Post Office. Explore the rich history of the area at the restored Mill on the Fleet visitor centre, Carsluith Castle or the Neolithic burial sites at Cairnholy. Enjoy the outdoor life with the abundance of walking and cycling in the area and in the nearby Galloway Hills Forest Park, or relax on one of the many excellent beaches that can be found on the River Fleet estuary. This lovely cottage is a perfect base for a couple or small family.
The small country town of Gatehouse of Fleet lies on the Solway Firth, in Dumfries and Galloway. The town offers Mill on the Fleet, a visitor centre in a former bobbin mill, which tells the tale of Gatehouse’s cotton spinning days. Also in the town are a small supermarket, chemist, bank, Post Office, two book/gift shops, a kilt making centre, two cafes and four pubs.

Good secure garden if you have a dog, with extensive walks very close to property. Garden is down steep wooden steps though. House is comfortable and well equipped but downstairs needs some maintenance.

Il est cependant vieillissant et de nombreux meubles sont abîmés. Il est bien équipé mais là aussi des équipements devraient être renouvelés. Il nây avait pas de cafetière (pourtant visible sur les photos qui soit dit en passant ne sont plus vraiment conformes). Nous avons laissé un message à la propriétaire qui ne nous a jamais rappelé. Le point le plus négatif est lâentretient global. Au delà des meubles, les placards et tiroirs sont sales, les encadrements de fenêtres aussi, et jâen passe. Les coussins du salon, le tapis, les plaids et couvertures et encore pire le linge de lit sont tachés ce que je trouve inacceptable. Nous avons pu nous accommoder de certains désagréments mais ceci est incompréhensible. Quand on loue, on se doit dâinvestir et de renouveler pour garantir des prestations dignes de ce nom.
