We had a lovely week at Arkland Mill. It is absolutely charming, as well as warm and comfortable- which was an asset as we sat out Storm Amy! It has clearly been finished to a very high standard and is well equipped. We especially loved the original artwork on the walls. The Mill is in a secluded location, so is it is a quiet and peaceful place to kick back and relax. The location is close to towns such as Dumfries and Castle Douglas, the latter being well worth a visit. It is also within easy reach Wigtown, perfect for the bookworms amongst you! Our visit coincided with the book festival, so there were extra events going on. The countryside and coast of Dumfries & Galloway is beautiful. There are lots of little coastal villages that are also worth exploring, amongst them being Kippford, where you can see the Tree of The Year 2021! After you’ve done that, you will need to recover by going for lunch at The Anchor. Recommended! Would we go back? In a heartbeat!

Really enjoyed our week at Arkland Mill. Everything we needed was provided. The property was warm and comfortable and set in lovely peaceful surroundings. A place to relax and unwind.Mobile signal was weak, so needed to search round the grounds to get a reasonable signal but this was no problem. Good to have a week without the distractions of technology. Many lovely places to visit and explore within reasonable travelling distance.I would highly recommend this property.
