Set in an elevated location above the peaceful village of Auchencairn the house has superb views to Auchencairn Bay, Hestan Isle together with the Solway Firth and Lake District beyond. The house, (which has the owner's accommodation attached) sits within its own land, in a quiet peaceful rural location but is still close to all facilities in the area. Collin Hill House is in a fantastic position for beautiful views of the sea and night sky . We found it had everything we needed , good shower , comfy bed and a cosy comfortable lounge . Horses , cattle, sheep and many different kinds of birds to watch .Thank you Phillipa for a warm welcome and detailed introduction to your cottage , the chats we had and polite conversation with your grandson . Auchencairn Community Store is well worth a visit , great fish and chips for collection , and a good curry night was enjoyed , they have a good supply of groceries and freshly cooked cakes and pasties etc . Places to visit , Castle Douglas, John Paul Jones cottage and museum , Kirkcudbright is very lovely , Balcary Hotel good food , visitors welcome great staff .The walk from Balcary Farm is a challenge but well worth the climb views are fantastic .
