Mountain Cross is a very comfortable house and is extremely well equipped. The large garden was a lovely bonus, and the location, on the edge of Gatehouse, was convenient for shops and restaurants.

This was our third visit to Mountain Cross and our first with our little boy (aged 2). It’s such a beautiful house and location and worked so well for us as a family (also with a dog). We have stayed in many Airbnbs and cottages and this is one of very few where we wanted for nothing. The town is a short walk away but the house and garden are super peaceful. The views are spectacular and from the garden we watched red kites, a woodpecker and a family of deer. From the doorstep there are stunning walks up on to the moor or towards town there’s Cally Woods with endless footpaths and incredible scenery. The house itself is warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water and lots of space to play and relax. The stair gates and cot were also much appreciated.
