The sun room is a highlight, offering a peaceful retreat and scenic views regardless of the weather. The location is ideal for walks and enjoying the tranquillity of the area. While some minor maintenance issues are mentioned, they do not detract from the overall positive experience. The property is well-loved for both short stays and repeat visits.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Tir Nan Og is a comfortable, clean, bright and very well equipped holiday property. The views over the sea to the hills beyond are stunning particularly from the sun room, lounge and main bedroom. Even in winter! There’s a lovely walk from the property to either Castle Point or Rockcliffe itself via woods and coastal paths. We had an enjoyable, relaxing week.

Been to the house a number of times and will go again. Lovely location with great views on a quiet road close to Rockcliffe We had very mixed weather, the house though is warm and cosy with enough space to find a quiet spot to read or just take in the view House is all on one level which is a bonus but be aware there are steps down to the garden area House has all the amenities you will need for a nice stay it is not luxurious but perfectly comfortable Pet friendly home in a really nice part of the world, there is a small shop about a mile or so away and a CO-OP in Dalbeattie about 6 miles away. Supermarkets in Castle Douglas about 12 miles away You need to use the car to gain full benefit

Lovely cottage in a fabulous, peaceful location. Issue with leaking kettle sorted out promptly by the owners. Still has a dripping tap in the double bathroom and the bushes down the steps into the garden could do with a really good trim! Got spiked a few times during the week! However, looking to book again for next year…
