A delightful semi-detached holiday cottage in an idyllic location with magnificent sea views to the Isle of Man and the Galloway Hills. Situated ¾ mile up a private good road, on the edge of the owner’s 50 acres of private woodland, with paths leading to a secluded sandy, pebbly beach and rocks for sea fishing - 10 minute walk. Two mile bluebell walk in May. Galloway House gardens, 2 miles, one shop at garage, bowling green, two tennis courts, harbour and nearest pub 1¼ mile.

Loved the cottage and location on a dairy farm. We were comfortable and had all needed for a relaxing, peaceful week. Really enjoyed watching the cows every day. Garlieston is a cute village, with a (dog) friendly pub serving good food, as is the cafe on the same road. Great walks from the cottage and in village. A car is essential for travel further afield, with many towns, villages, coastal walks, gardens to visit. Brenda, the owner, is very friendly. If you want cosy, quaint, dog friendly accommodation with rural views and peace then this is the place!

I only realised after booking this cottage that it didn't have wifi. We managed as the local cafe had wifi but some of us run businesses via the internet so despite enjoying the location, I would not book here again.Also the exterior of the building badly needs attention, with guttering broken, fascia boards rotten and needing replacing. On first sight I thought the whole building was derelict. The heating system inside also needs updating.However the cost to some extent reflected these problems and generally was value for money. We intend to return again to the same area next year.

Lovely cottage great locational Lovely owners bedrooms are well equipped and well presented bed was comfortable living area could do with up dating ie seating , kitchen is dated but has everything you need for a stay great large enclosed garden especially if you take dogs with you
