The best location directly overlooking the picturesque harbour and sandy beach. There are views to the Southern coastal path and the RNLI lifeboat station across the harbour. Binoculars are provided. You may see the 20 Orcas which passed by whilst we were there. Behind the house is Dunsky St. and a path uphill to the semi ruined Dunsky Castle. We walked back along the old railway track from the common at the top of the hill.A semi detached, period property with parking on the green in front. The front garden is enclosed, with seats and table. The back yard has seats and a small table too. The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped with modern furnishings. The original tiled floors, doors and woodwork are lovely. There are security lights front and back. There is a car park and bus turn around further along the road.The Tobermory type pastel front buildings include 3 welcoming pubs. Fish and chips recommended.The Post Office and General Store is well stocked and the people we met were chatty.We enjoyed our morning dog walks along the harbour around the lifeboat station, past the playground, the bowling green, putting green and through the old part of Port Patrick past the ruins of St. Cuthberts church.South Haven is a wonderful location to sit outside in the sunshine. Lots to see.

Really nice and comfortable accommodation, with a superb view. Had everything we needed, well equipped. Pity the velux window in bathroom didn’t open, would have been useful after showering. Local shop had nice home baking and bread but you need to get food shop in Stranraer. Pity the gift shops were shut. Crown Hotel was lively and welcoming.
