Guests say

19 South Street is a quaint and charming cottage in Grantown on Spey, appreciated for its warmth, character, and secure garden. Its proximity to local amenities and attractions in the Highlands makes it a favourable location for guests. While some guests have concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, others praise the comfort and well-equipped nature of the property.

Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including greasy kitchenware and mold in the bathrooms. However, not all reviews mention cleanliness problems, indicating inconsistency in this area.

The cottage is consistently praised for its great location, with easy access to local shops, cafes, and attractions in the Scottish Highlands, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests find the cottage comfy and cosy, with comfortable beds and a warm atmosphere. Some concerns about steep stairs and dated aspects of the property are noted, but overall comfort is rated positively.

The property is well-equipped with modern bathrooms and appliances, but some guests note the need for maintenance and a deeper clean. The mix of dinnerware and the condition of some kitchen items are mentioned as areas for improvement.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner towards the guests, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Lovely cottage. The cleaner could be a little better. But overall a lovely holiday

Disappointing.Property is tired, worn, and poorly maintained. Were greeted by dirty tea towels hanging on a string over the mantlepiece in the kitchen; no two items of dinnerware or cups were the same. Rest of equipment in kitchen felt more like it had been collected from an elderly relative's house clearance. The state of both bathrooms continued the poor maintenance: mold around the shower, the grouting around the bath cracked & dirty, the door in the upstairs is made from decking planks. In all rather disappointing compared to other properties of a similar age I have rented.

I have been in contact with owner by text regarding the cottage. The cottage is quaint, quirky & warm. However the cottage was not clean & if cleaners were employed the owner should think again. The kitchen crockery, utensils, cooker & microwave were greasy & dirty. The bottom of the basin in sink was thick with grease. The silicon in the upstairs shower cabinet was covered in black mould..The owner's response was less than helpful saying he would contact cleamer & replace silicon in shower cabinetI think he was annoyed that I brought these issues to his attention. I feel that other customers should be made aware
