Grieves Cottage receives high praise for its stunning, peaceful location with breathtaking views of mountains and the sea. Guests consistently highlight the cottage’s exceptional cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped kitchen, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. The remote setting is perfect for walkers and dog owners, though visitors should bring supplies due to limited local amenities. Friendly locals and a helpful housekeeper add to the positive experience. Some mention low ceilings upstairs and occasional utility issues, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Multiple reviews describe the cottage as spotless and exceptionally clean throughout, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness.
The location is widely praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to nature, though its remoteness and distance from shops are noted.
Guests find the cottage very comfortable, with special mention of quality beds and living spaces. Some note low ceilings upstairs, but this is not seen as a major issue.
The cottage is described as very well equipped, especially the kitchen and utility room. Minor suggestions include a larger freezer, hairdryer, and coffee machine, but overall satisfaction is high.
There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Grieves Cottage is located just outside a small Highland village called Arnisdale. Locally there is an old-fashioned shop, which stocks nearly everything, there is also a pub/inn at Glenelg 10 miles away. There is a ferry to Skye which runs from Kylerea near Glenelg during the summer months, and there are plenty popular tourist destinations nearby including the spectacular Eilean Donan Castle. There are brilliant coastal and hill walks, with a "Munro" directly behind the village. Hill loch fishing may be available by arrangement with the estate. Wildlife is abundant, with a whole host of birds (golden eagles, gannets, divers and guillemots), animals (red and roe deer) and mammals (dolphins and porpoises, otters and seals) in the area. Guests staying at Greives Cottage will appreciate the warm and welcoming ambience of this holiday house, and its breath-taking location; making it an excellent base for exploring this enchanting part of Scotland.

Great cottage in a superb location . Munros behind you , Loch Hourn in front . You really can’t wish for anything better . Quite isolated , so bring food as nearest shop, with adaquate but limited supplies is in Glenelg about 30 mins away on a single track road . That’s the only reason I’ve marked equipment as good not exceptional - really a bigger freezer would be advantageous . Had a power outage and more seriously the mains water failed for a day . Not the estates fault but mentioned so you can prepare yourself. I suppose we are in the Highlands . Housekeeper Yvonne was brilliant . But overall a great holiday was had .

The cottage is well maintained and clean through out. Set in a beautiful location for walking both mountains and easier walks through local glens. We did not have mountain bikes with is but would be a good location mtb.You do need to take plenty of supplies with you due to the remote location. The house is well stock with equipment for making meals with large fridge and freezer. We will certainly look to visit again. Good pub around 10 mile away but you do need to book early.
