Located in Eilanreach, Highland, this delightful cottage offers stunning views of hills and lochs, abundant wildlife, a toasty woodburning stove and off-road parking for three cars, making it perfect for families or friends with a well-behaved pet. Pull up and park the car outside this abode, take in the stunning surroundings of Highland. Upon entering the cottage, you'll be greeted by an inviting sitting room, complete with a woodburning stove, two plush sofas and an armchair, perfect for curling up with a good book or enjoying a family movie night. The large window floods the room with natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The heart of the home is undoubtedly the kitchen/diner, fully-equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals. The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, adding a touch of convenience to your stay. When it's time to retire for the night, there is a king-size room with an armchair to enjoy a book. The two twin rooms, with sloping ceilings, offer relaxing sleeping arrangements for the rest of the group. All rooms are welcoming with homely soft furnishings and full of natural light. The bathroom, complete with a bath and shower-over, basin and WC, provides a sleek and stylish space to freshen up after a day of exploring the local area. Outside, the enclosed garden with a lawn provides a safe space for your children and four-legged friend to roam, while the storage area is ideal for keeping bikes, walking boots and other outdoor gear. With a majestic Munro at your doorstep, tidal islands to explore on foot, and deer, otters, dolphins, and seals often spotted right outside, this is the best of Highland scenery, and is just 10 miles from Glenelg. Venture out to embrace the wild beauty of the area, starting with a trip to the extraordinary Bealach na Ba Viewpoint, offering you unparalleled vistas of the surrounding landscape, a must-see for photography and nature enthusiasts alike. History buffs will be captivated by the ancient stories that enliven the rustic Strome Castle, a National Trust for Scotland spot with intriguing tales of yore. Absorb the tranquillity of the Otter Hide, a serene site where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the playful creatures frolicking in the water. Just a short distance away is the stunning Bernera Beach, where you can indulge in the simple pleasures of a coastal walk whilst soaking up the resounding calm and natural beauty of your environment. North Cottage serves as your idyllic haven after all this exploration.
Just ten miles from the main route to the Isle of Skye, the small coastal village of Glenelg lies on the shores of the Sound of Sleat, surrounded by scenery deemed magnificent even by West Highland standards. The glen has preserved its unspoilt beauty and sense of isolation, yet remains within easy reach of the more well-known centres of attraction in the area. Overlooking the Isle of Skye, it is situated on the route once used by drovers from Skye to get their cattle to the mainland, crossing over the narrow Kyle Rhea straits. A couple of miles from the village on the Arnisdale road you will find Sandaig bay, named "Camusfearna" by Gavin Maxwell in his novel Ring of Bright Water, and where there is a cairn for his beloved otter Edal. Glenelg also has the best preserved Pictish Brochs on mainland Scotland. The ruins of Bernera Barracks, an 18th Century garrison for English government troops, still stand next to the village.
