Choose this place if you want complete peace and quietness and do not require too much luxury. The place was once designed very carefully, unfortunately it should have been kept in better shape and you should not be allergic to dog hair. Midges are a present company and if you want to go for a walk your possibilities are limited. Nevertheless, Applecross is nice and Sand Beach a great spot! Nervous drivers might have problems with Applecross Pass though. Unfortunately, even though advertised differently, the house does not offer enough chairs or crockery for 7 people, so better arrive with a smaller party.

The cottage is beautiful, spacious and incredibly comfortable, with a lovely large garden and wonderful surroundings. The bedrooms are a great size, there are two bathrooms — one with the sweetest little bath — and the big living room has everything you could need for a cosy evening after a day out exploring. The kitchen is spacious and very well set up, and the whole house has a warm, welcoming feeling that makes it very easy to settle in and feel at home. The surroundings are every bit as special as the cottage itself. Londain is wonderfully peaceful and remote, surrounded by the wild beauty that makes the Applecross peninsula so unforgettable. With mountains, open countryside and the sea just around the back of the house, there are beautiful views in every direction. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet Applecross is close enough for a meal out or a wander through the village to the village shop. For us, it was exactly the kind of quiet, unspoilt West Coast setting we love.”For a house that accommodates up to eight guests, a little more cutlery and crockery would have been useful.. Quite a few of the pans were showing signs of heavy use and could perhaps do with replacing which would make an already excellent kitchen even better. Those are minor points, though, compared with how much we loved our stay. Applecross was somewhere I had wanted to visit for years, and staying at Cliff Cottage made it even more special. It is a beautiful house in a stunning part of Scotland, and we felt very lucky to have found it. We would happily return — and would recommend it without hesitation.

Cliff cottage is beautiful, remote and has everything we could have needed. Check in was really straight forward and there were little radiators in most rooms to take the chill away, though we were really lucky with the weather and didn’t need them much! The rooms are brilliant, clean and well laid out. The local area is beautiful, there’s a gorgeous sandy beach less than 10 minutes down the road, and then a rocky beach a bit further than that where we found crabs! There is a really well priced fish and chip van in the centre and a wonderful restaurant too. The little shop had everything we needed for a little top up but definitely head to a supermarket on your way! Overall we loved it here and are really hoping to come back in the future.
