Newlands is a well-liked cottage in a beautiful location, praised for its spaciousness, stunning views, and suitability for families and groups. The large garden and proximity to local attractions are highlights. Some guests noted areas for improvement, particularly in maintenance and cleanliness, but the responsive owner and the property's charm have led to repeat visits and recommendations.
Guests have expressed concerns about cleanliness, mentioning cobwebs, dead flies, and dust. Some found the property well-cleaned, while others felt it required more thorough attention. The owner's responsiveness to these issues suggests a commitment to improvement.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to local attractions, including distilleries and scenic walks. The picturesque setting and ease of access to nearby towns contribute to its appeal, despite some comments about the busy road and walkability to local amenities.
Comfort levels are generally good, with guests appreciating the warm bedding and cosy log fire. However, some guests reported issues with bed comfort and noise, suggesting that while the property is comfortable overall, there is room for improvement in this area.
Facilities are deemed ideal for groups, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample dining space. Criticisms include the need for updates in bathrooms and outdoor seating, as well as minor maintenance issues. The owner's helpfulness in resolving problems is noted.

A well-presented detached stone cottage located on the edge of the historic Highland village of Archiestown. Well-appointed throughout, this spacious stone cottage is ideal for a family orgroup of friends who want to discover the Moray and Speyside region. This bright and warm Moray cottage has four lovely bedrooms, two on the ground floor and two upstairs, with a bathroom on each floor. The kitchen is located in a large sun room at the front of this cottage in Archiestown, from where you can discover the fabulous views. The split-level ground floor also has a beautifully presented sitting room with a welcoming woodburning stove and double doors leading out to the garden. To the front of this Speyside cottage is a private lawned garden, a great place to relax before setting off on the day's adventures! Archiestown is centrally positioned in Speyside on the Malt Whisky Trail, with up to ten distilleries in close proximity; so make sure you share the driving! Running right from the doorstep of your Archiestown cottage, keen cyclists and walkers will adore the Speyside Way, an old railway line, which links the Moray Coast to the Grampian Mountains. The River Spey is famous for fishing and permits are available locally, or if you prefer you will find no less than 22 golf courses in this area. A fabulous location and a wonderful Speyside cottage!
