About this property

Ready to take your breath away whilst simultaneously feeding your adventurous side, The Lookout includes both stunning seaside views and an abundance of activities to choose from.

Perfect for a family getaway for those who wish to explore the countryside of Hopeman, northeast Scotland.

Renovated to mix contemporary comfort and style with a traditional seaside cottage, this property welcomes you with panoramic views of the beach, allowing you to see the bays of Southerland and Caithness across the water, whilst revealing a build of traditional stone and renovated wood areas sure to capture your attention.

Upon entering the property, you will first take in the beautiful full-length glass windows, boasting both the scenery and the architecture of the cottage whilst opening on to an outside seating area; stylish tiled floors merge with grey stone pillars, reiterating the traditional cottage feel whilst accommodating you with a welcoming sitting area and kitchen/diner, with a wooden bench to house your heart-warming meals cooked using the array of amenities available.

Outfitted to the max, this home-from-home kitchen offers an electric oven, fridge/freezer and more to make your evening mealtimes convenient, certain to entice you and your guests with the promise of a cooked breakfast before you begin your day’s adventure, meanwhile a handy utility room is perfect for taking care of your muddy clothes.

When in need of a break, a separate snug offers a quieter space to recline with a large L-shaped sofa and woodburning stove to warm your feet whilst a built-in dog bed provides luxury comfort for your four-legged companions.

Tasteful and convenient, a large ground-floor wet room will be sure to soak away the sand from your hair and coax you into an evening of family games and relaxation.

When sleep calls, make your way to one of two bedrooms, with a hallway fitted with storage and sloping cottage ceilings throughout the upper levels, a twin room allows for a well-lit area with a skylight and crisp walls painted a refreshing white, the perfect room for children.

The theme of traditional wooden roof beams continues into the super-king-size room, where local artwork and seaside views bring a touch of the local area to the property, and there is a fantastic gallery to the ground-floor below.

Why not take your evening relaxation outside, where a large, enclosed garden offers a decking area fitted with a firepit and seating area, allowing you to watch the sun set and even see the northern lights?

Set in the quiet seaside village of Hopeman, this cottage offers a base for many activities both in the local area and further afield. Take to the waves in a kayak, stroll along the beach for a refreshing walk with your family, or explore the loft, a local attraction park offering laser tag, archery, grass sledging and many more activities to choose from including golf, watersports and parks. Local coffee shops and pubs supply warm meals, whilst a convenience store allows you to sample produce from the area and rustle up a treat for your family. Comfortable, contemporary, and captivating, a stay at The Lookout is sure to make a holiday you will remember.

Hopeman is a scenic coastal village situated on the shores of the Moray Firth in the Northeast of Scotland. This small village attracts many visitors due to the fact it boasts two sandy beaches, East Beach and West Beach, as well as an idyllic harbour used mainly now for leisure crafts. The East Beach boasts a line of beach huts, all individually decorated, along with a small pavilion. The main street has a number of small shops and a popular tearoom but nowadays the main venue for a big shop is the town of Elgin which has 24-hour Asda and Tesco supermarkets. Elgin sits between Inverness and Aberdeen and is home to the historical Elgin Cathedral. The Moray Firth is home to many dolphins and stretches of stunning coastline with many whisky distilleries, forest walks, cycle paths and little harbours. Outside the village is the popular town of Inverness, where you can find further attractions and amenities such as Infinity Trampoline Park and Inverness Golf Club.

… We absolutely loved our stay at the look out. It truly is like home from home with every creature comfort made available to you. Beds are super comfy with quality bed linen. Ample towels available. Everything is catered for, thought has been put into everything from cooking, relaxing and fun! The views are incredible with literally a 2 minute walk to the beaches which are stunning! Conveniently located for local shops and central to many locations to visit. Words don’t do justice but a visit will!!! We will definitely return “Thank You”

Everything you could possibly want up to and including wetsuits and kayak for outdoor and an Xbox and great tv/ broadband if you are stuck indoors. Close to great beaches. Bathroom/ shower you won’t want to get out of. Parking on road but it’s a cul de sac with about 2 houses so no issue. Grocery store within 2 mins walk which sells most everything. I would say the bedrooms are in the eves so low beds and ceilings may be a concern to some. Just a shame we came in a freezing, stormy February so not able to use the gas fired bbq or kayak/ boogie boards had to drink wine in front of the log burner. Bummer
