Guests say

Gardener's Cottage in Duns is highly praised for its cosy and comfortable atmosphere, set in a tranquil woodland location ideal for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland coastline. Guests appreciate the warm welcome, including pre-heated rooms upon arrival, and the property's suitability for pets. While some minor maintenance issues and cleaning oversights are mentioned, the overall experience is one of a peaceful and enjoyable stay, with many expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-presented, though there were a few reports of cobwebs, dog hairs, and a full hoover bag. Some guests also noted issues with stained bed linen and a need for a more thorough clean in certain areas.

The location is consistently praised for its quietness, beauty, and convenience for exploring nearby attractions. The peaceful setting and proximity to towns and nature walks contribute to a positive experience, although some guests found it a bit remote.

Guests generally regard the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with comfy sofas and beds. However, some noted that the upstairs could be cold, and there were comments about creaky floorboards and a need for minor repairs.

The cottage is appreciated for its excellent facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. Nonetheless, some guests encountered maintenance issues like broken heaters and taps, and there were mixed reviews on Wi-Fi reliability.

Many guests were touched by the thoughtful touches, such as tea, coffee, and biscuits provided upon arrival. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such gifts are a kind bonus and may vary with each stay.
