While some minor issues are noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a beautiful rural location.
Most guests find the cottage clean and cosy, though there are a few mentions of cleanliness not meeting expectations on occasion, such as cobwebs and a full hoover bag. The majority, however, had a positive experience.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience for exploring local towns, the coastline, and nearby attractions. It's also noted as peaceful and ideal for dog walking.
Guests report the cottage as warm, cosy, and comfortable, with comfy sofas and beds. Some mention the upstairs can be a bit cold, but overall the comfort level is high.
The cottage is well-equipped according to guests, but some report issues with Wi-Fi, small TVs, and maintenance needs like broken heaters. The presence of two bathrooms is appreciated.
Several reviews mention thoughtful touches like chocolates and biscuits, as well as practical items like tea, coffee, and dishwasher pods. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, they are a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

It was a very comfortable stay. Was a little bit disappointed with the cleanliness, lots of cobwebs around the walls and ceilings, dirt behind the tv unit, just needs a little bit of TLC.

Unfortunately the cottage is in need of some TLC and a very good clean. The oven is functional but in dire need of cleaning, the grill pan was filthy and had hair on it. It took a good 30 minutes to clean it. There was barely enough cutlery for 2 of us and this had seen better days. The glasses were dirty and one had lipstick on ( not my shade). The kitchen knives were all scratched and marked looking cheap and nasty. There were stains on the kitchen ceiling that could easily have been taken care of with a lick of paint. The bathroom velux window was covered in clumps of moss ( not the owners fault I know) but Iâm hoping someone will clean it before spring/ summer when you may want to open the window. All the upstairs lights were old fashioned mini fluorescent bulbs which took a while to actually come up to brightness. On the day of departure we left at 6.30 am. We followed instructions as left in the brochure, ensuring that all crockery had been washed and put away with nothing left in the dishwasher. The bed linen was to be removed and left with used towels in a pile. After removing one of the pillow cases I had slept on the last 3 nights I found the pillow to be stained with old blood, this is not acceptable and is the real reason Iâm sending this feedback, Iâve never given a negative review before I just donât return. Based on the information in the booklet which hasnât been revised since Covid We recycled and put out rubbish, ran and emptied the dishwasher and carried out general cleaning. In doing so we believe weâve actually done more than â the cleanerâ does. Such a shame this little gem is not allowed to show its real potential. All these things could be dealt with easily and at not much cost. I have taken pictures to back up my statement ( again something Iâve never done before). We stay in many cottages and have booked many through Sykes. I am particularly disappointed as this was a present from me to my husband. It didnât spoil the break away I would hate someone to have the same experience we had.

Shower had clearly not been cleaned for months, bedding not clean or changed and two single beds made into a double was like sleeping on the floor. Microwave and cooker were filthy. Had 1980s white meter heating and constantly set of my asthma with the heat and dust we had no choice but to leave the cottage. Personally would not recommend the cottage.
