Taigh Na Beadan is praised for its stunning views, peaceful and remote location, and proximity to beautiful beaches, making it an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Lewis. Guests appreciate the comfortable sun room, dog-friendly features, and helpful owner. While the cottage is warm and cosy, some reviews mention maintenance issues and a need for updates. The local community shop is well stocked and convenient. Overall, the property offers a tranquil retreat with outstanding scenery, though a few aspects could benefit from further attention.
Several guests found the cottage warm and comfortable, but there are repeated mentions of stained carpets, a damp smell in the kitchen, and areas needing a deeper clean or repaint. The oven and kitchen walls were noted as needing attention. While not universally negative, cleanliness could be improved.
The location is consistently described as fabulous, peaceful, and ideal for those seeking tranquillity and natural beauty. Guests loved the views, remoteness, and access to outstanding beaches, with a well-stocked community shop nearby.
Most guests found the cottage cosy, warm, and comfortable, especially enjoying the sun room and bedrooms with views. Some minor issues were noted, such as a broken toilet seat and light switch, but overall comfort was rated highly.
Facilities are mixed: the kitchen is generally well equipped but lacks some items, and maintenance issues like a broken toilet seat, limited drying options, and only one shower were noted. The property is dog-friendly with secure areas, but the garden is not fully enclosed.
While the owner is described as helpful and responsive, there is no mention of welcome gifts or packs, and some guests noted the absence of local information leaflets. Thoughtfulness could be enhanced with small touches for guests, but these are not guaranteed.

There is something for all the family, fishing, kayaking or paddleboarding on the loch whilst others watch form the comfort of the cottage!

Very comfortable house, with stunning views. In a remote location but within easy reach of a local community shop, petrol station and a couple of community cafes. Well equipped kitchen. Fabulous beaches nearby - Reef and Uig/Ardroil.This is the second time we have stayed here. Very dog friendly with enclosed gardens front and back.Great communication and information from owner.

Cosy cottage, great view, a little remote but on a superb circular walk. Local beaches are outstanding. The owner David Macleod and manager Sharon responded quickly to our queries. We were ‘off-season’ so could not experience local restaurants, the local shop is well stocked.
