The enclosed garden is a hit with dog owners, and the property's proximity to local attractions adds to its charm. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many guests eager to return.
Most guests found the property clean and comfortable, though there were a few mentions of dog hairs and a need for better cleaning. The owner's responsiveness to cleanliness concerns positively impacts the score.
The location is consistently lauded for its tranquillity, stunning views, and proximity to local amenities and attractions. It's described as an idyllic spot, perfect for exploring the beauty of Harris.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The secure garden for dogs and the thoughtful layout contribute to the comfort. However, some guests mentioned minor discomforts like the slanted roof and lack of small tables.
The property is well-equipped, but there are comments about temperamental appliances and a desire for additional facilities like a second WC. Maintenance issues like a constant toilet overflow and a rusty BBQ were noted, suggesting room for improvement.

Leverburgh 2.8 miles. A traditional croft house turned holiday cottage; St Clements View can be found nestled into the countryside of the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. With wildlife and beaches nearby, this four-bed pet-friendly cottage is perfect for families looking for a taste of the more rugged islands of Scotland.
Upon parking outside of the property, you are met with a quirky cottage where contemporary design and traditional architecture melt together seamlessly, where a large extension with huge full-length windows has been added to the cottage without being intrusive, with beautiful brown wooden windows and skylights.
Once you have marvelled at the house’s exterior, you will be welcomed into an airy sitting room that could possibly be the property's grandest feature, with huge windows opening onto the stunning wild bay just beyond the garden, stylish sofas, and furniture all in keeping with the cottage feel, so why not take a moment to relax and enjoy this space before embarking on your adventures?
Exiting the sitting room, you will find the dining room, continuing the theme of wooden floors, furniture, and contemporary cottage décor, making the perfect space for you to indulge in a wonderful family breakfast.
The designated chef will be enticed into the amply equipped kitchen, first noting the white tiled floor contrasting perfectly with the black furniture, hard wood work-surface and an abundance of amenities allowing you to rustle up the perfect family meal, providing two bar stools to recline and have a coffee whilst breakfast is underway, as well as French windows with access to the decking area outside.
Also on the ground-floor, a spacious tiled bathroom awaits, with a large jacuzzi bath to recline and relax in after a long day exploring the beach, or for a quicker freshen up, a large shower cubicle with rainforest shower head.
Climb the stairs to find the perfect places to snuggle down for the night; a master bedroom with a double bed, delicate décor in keeping with the cottage theme and a view to the outside, along with a twin room also presenting fresh styling, with artwork of the local scenery.
If you wish to enjoy a meal outside, then there is a wonderful decking area accessible through both the kitchen and the French windows in the sitting room, why not grab a book and enjoy a peaceful moment amongst the Hebridean air? Visible from the house is the historic St Clement’s church, a popular spot for weddings, and there is a beach within walking distance of the house that can only be reached on foot. If you need a hot meal, but you don’t wish to cook, then within a short drive are a few local restaurants, or stock up on essentials before heading out on a hike at the Harris community shop, and you will have the opportunity to explore local craft and artwork at Grannie Annie's local craft shop, Borrisdale Tweed, and Finsbay gallery. There are many beaches to visit, where you can walk, wild-swim and partake in your favourite watersports, as well as hikes and walks around archaeological sites, including MacLeod´s Stone and the beautiful surrounding walk. Remote, beautiful, and teeming with adventures, a stay at St Clement’s view is bound to be a family holiday you will remember. The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or Ullapool to Stornoway.
Borrisdale is a remote seaside village resting between Carminish and Glen Kyles, the Isle of Harris. The village is known for its beautiful wild scenery, local craft shops such as Harris Tweed and Grannie Annie’s craft shop, as well as the historic St Clements church, a popular destination for weddings and celebrations, and offers a wealth of attractions such as MacLeod´s Stone and the beautiful surrounding walk, sandy beaches, and abundance of wildlife. Dining options include the local restaurant The Anchorage inn and you can stock up on essentials at the local convenience store. Just outside of the village you will find Leverburgh where you can embark on walks around Loch Steisebhat, explore more beautiful beaches or even take day trips by boat across to the Uist islands where you will find attractions such as Teampull na Trionaid (Trinity Temple Carinish) and Calanais Standing Stones. From here, you can also explore the Isle of Lewes and the Isle of Scalpay via causeways between the islands, giving you yet more hikes and beaches to visit.
