About this property

Cardigan 4 miles. A very pretty detached cottage set next to the owner's home in wonderful open countryside, just four miles from the popular town of Cardigan. This charming cottage is located in a most peaceful setting and makes a wonderful retreat for anyone looking to get away from it all. With character beams, spacious living rooms and the added bonus of a conservatory, this is a lovely holiday home. Take family meals around the large kitchen table followed by a relaxing evening in the spacious sitting room with its warming woodburner, perfect for cooler evenings. There is also the extra flexibility of a downstairs toilet leading off the porch at the rear entrance. Stairs lead up from the sitting room to two charming bedrooms, both with sloping ceilings, beams and quirky low windows, whilst the bathroom has a deep bath tub; ideal for soothing muscles after an energetic day spent discovering this fabulous region. Outside is an enclosed garden with lovely views over the fields plus on the owners' land are sheep, lambs, calves and a pony. Spend some time to discover a network of over 8 miles of walks and cycling routes directly from the doorstep through countryside lanes. Try your hand at horse riding at the local riding centre, visit one of the superb sandy beaches in the area or even walk some of the Wales Coast Path. Also nearby are Cilgerran Castle, the market town of Cardigan and a range of delightful coastal villages. Whatever your days are filled with, you will look forward to returning to this beautiful holiday cottage to plan the next day’s activities.

Cardigan is a market town in Ceredigion on the River Teifi and is home to a variety of shops, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and a ruined castle. Enjoy scenic countryside and rugged coastline a few miles away. Worth a visit are Cardigan Island Farm Park, the Blue Flag sandy beaches and the Preseli Mountains where good walking and cycling can be enjoyed. Take a boat trip to spot dolphins and seals or visit Dylan Thomas' Boat House in Laugharne.

Especially loved the 'Noah's ark' procession in the morning and early evening (ewes, lambs, dogs and Donk the donkey) being 'stabled' or let out. All in all a wonderful holiday, and we plan to return. Highly recommend.

We love this beautiful house and would recommend it to all our friends and family and was sad that we had to leave. It has everything that you could possibly need for a perfect, peaceful week away. Fran ( and her dogs, Bramble and Monty ) are the perfect hosts. Our dog has been sulking since we got home! If its peace, quiet and complete wind down from the everyday rat race that you are looking for, make sure you book a week at this property....you wont regret it.

Timed central heating ( timer in locked box ) heating on 7am - 10am and 4pm - 10pm. The owner was not willing to provide central heating out of these times. Says there is backup heating ( small halogen heater ). There is a wood burner in the corner under a recess giving off very little heat ( no impact on large cottage). No heating at all in kitchen. We were sat with blankets at 8- 30 pm Still cold. Went to bed. Left the cottage at 10am cold. Couldn't find owner. Left them message and emailed later. No reply to knocks on door or messages. Had to leave for sake of our health. Very disappointed.
