Guests say

Guests consistently praise Maesgwyn for its peaceful and rural setting, cosy and spacious interiors, and the warm hospitality provided by the owners, Fran and Chez. The large, enclosed garden is frequently mentioned as a highlight, particularly for dog owners. The property's charm and the thoughtful touches, such as Welsh cakes and a ready-lit fire upon arrival, contribute to a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Reviews consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-maintained, with guests expressing satisfaction with the level of cleanliness upon arrival. The attention to detail in this regard contributes to the overall positive experience.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to beautiful walks and beaches. While the rural setting down small lanes is appreciated by most, it is noted that it could be challenging for some drivers. The peacefulness and natural beauty of the area are significant assets.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with mentions of cosy furnishings, a log fire, and a spacious layout. The property provides a relaxing break with a homely feel, contributing to the overall comfort of guests' stays.

The cottage is well-appointed with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces. However, one review mentioned inadequate fridge space and a lack of heating in the kitchen, suggesting some room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The owners' thoughtfulness is frequently highlighted, with guests appreciating the welcoming touches such as milk, Welsh cakes, and a lit fire. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Fran was such a great host, the cottage itself was clean and had everything we needed. Very quiet and peaceful. Bird watching in the conservatory is a must and a fire in evening was perfect! Thanks for such a lovely time, we look forward to returning!

It’s absolutely beautiful, charming cottage surrounded by sheep and birds. Peaceful lovely secure garden for our dogs. Everything you need is provided and Fran the owner kindly had the log fire lit so it was nice and warm on arrival also provided milk, cakes and flowers. A really thoughtful touch and very kind lady. Anything you need or information Fran is always happy to help. We found the cottage cozy comfortable and charming. We have already booked to return later in the year.

Dog friendly and all the walks you could possibly want. Short drive to Cardigan for shopping and Poppet sands for the beach. I highly recommend a visit to Newport beach - amazing for dogs. Out of season a lot of tea rooms etc are closed but it means that you can visit places in relative peace. Cenarth Falls is just a few miles away and is stunning. Fran is an excellent host and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is clean, very warm and comfortable. See you next year!
