Guests say

This summary has been generated using feedback from guests who have stayed at this property

Guests consistently praise Ysgoldy Brynwyre for its high standard of refurbishment, comfort, and spaciousness. The property's tranquil location offers stunning views and proximity to local attractions. While the garden's security for pets is a concern for some, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many looking forward to returning.

Cleanliness

The property is frequently described as clean and spotless, indicating a high level of cleanliness that guests appreciate. One mention of a mix-up with cleaning on arrival was quickly resolved, showing good responsiveness to issues.

Location

The location is celebrated for its remote, peaceful setting with beautiful views, though the access via a narrow road is noted. Its proximity to beaches and towns is appreciated, but the lack of a fully enclosed garden for pets is a repeated concern.

Comfort

Comfort is a highlight, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the property warm and cosy. The spaciousness of the rooms contributes to the overall comfort level experienced by visitors.

Facilities

The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and the renovation is admired. However, some guests mention overgrown grass and the need for a more secure garden. The lack of gates and the need for maintenance in the outdoor area slightly affect the score.

Thoughtfulness

Unfortunately we’ve been unable assess this category comprehensively enough based on the reviews we’ve received from guests about this property.

About this property

Nestled on the outskirts of Llanrhystud, Ceredigion, is this exceptional four-bedroom converted chapel, Ysgoldy Brynwyre. Enjoying a superb location close by to a working farm with far-reaching countryside views and just a short drive from the coast, Ysgoldy Brynwyre is a fabulous pet-friendly choice for a group or family of eight. The property benefits from off-road parking for four cars, as well as a generous garden, where you can spend evenings dining alfresco whilst your pooches run and play. Inside, you will find a spacious open-plan living area, featuring high ceilings and exposed beams, here you can cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen, ready to savour a delicious meal at the dining table for eight, and an inviting sitting area, where you can unwind on the plush seating in front of your favourite show in the warmth of the woodburning stove. The ground floor also enjoys a utility cupboard with handy washing machine, two beautifully presented bedrooms, a super-king-size with en-suite shower room, and a king-size, the latter of which has access to a well-appointed bathroom, complete with bath and overhead shower. Upstairs, you will discover two tastefully decorated twin bedrooms with zip/link, both with access to a cloakroom. Take the short drive into the village of Llanrhystud, where you will find all your local amenities, including a convenience store, Post Office, the welcoming eateries of The Black Lion and The Barn at Pengarreg, and the pebbled shores of Llanrhystud Beach. Continue onto Aberaeron, where you can enjoy leisurely strolls along the River Aeron, dine at The Hive and The Stubborn Duckling, enjoy a dip in Aberaeron Swimming Pool, or relish a wildlife rich walk along the Allt Y Graig Woodland Trail. Further afield, you’ll find Aberystwyth, where you can delight in a relaxing ride and exceptional views aboard the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway, tour the Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum, spend a day at Aberystwyth Beach, soak up the views for 12-miles of rich countryside courtesy of the Vale of Rheidol Railway, visit the fascinating Aberystwyth Castle Grounds, or test out your swing at the excellent Aberystwyth Golf Club. All this and more awaits at Ysgoldy Brynwyre.

Llanrhystud is a picturesque West Wales village where the rivers Carrog, Wyre, and Wyre Fach converge before emptying into the sea. The area around St. Rhystud's Church, a church on the National Register of Historic Places, has been designated as a conservation area, and the community now boasts both scenic rural vistas and a shingle beach. The beautiful Cardigan Bay can be seen from Llanrhystud beach, which is perfect for swimming and other water activities. If you don't feel like cooking, you can get everything you need at the gas station/convenience store nearby, or you may eat at the pub, which serves traditional fare. On a sunny day, you may play a round of golf at the nearby 18-hole facility, while nearby riding stables and a farm park offer activities for kids of all ages. Aberaeron, a delightful Georgian fishing town which still retains its character and charm, can be reached via the Wales Coastal Path, which passes through the village, and provides a fantastic way to experience the rugged coastline of Wales, with stops at other coastal villages along the way, such as the opportunity to take a boat trip to see the glorious landscape from the coast and discover Cardigan Bay's marine life before settling in at one of the many restaurants.
