A dream location, Gower's fabulous beaches are all within easy reach of this cosy dog friendly characterful cottage on the edge of Bishopston village.

A carefully renovated character cottage, perfect for couples and small families. Ideally located within 5 minutes walk of 2 charming country pubs, a hotel, a cafe and a shop. Wonderful location within easy reach of all of Gower's stunningly beautiful beaches. One small dog is welcome here.

Cosy and perfectly-formed, this stone cottage lies at the top of the National Trust-managed Bishopston Valley, Gower. The owner has carefully restored many details of this former malthouse, and the cottage retains real charm.

Look out for the handmade oak front door. The parlour proudly sports the original quarry tiled floor and a vast fireplace, complete with bread oven, which bears the marks of hundreds of years of use. Nowadays it is the perfect spot to mull over the day's activities next to the welcoming log burner.

A charming country-style kitchen lies beyond with a Belfast sink and views to the flower-filled garden.

The bathroom is located just beyond the kitchen - ideal for when you come in from walking or surfing.

Go from the kitchen to the garden room - a sun-washed spot ideal for watching bees buzz around the cottage garden flowers and just perfect for lazy afternoons with a book or maybe a glass or two at sundown.

Malthouse Cottage is a delightful retreat. The first-floor bedroom has original beams and boards and an iron bed. A tiny stairway leads to the mezzanine where a single bed and an additional pull-out single bed provide an exciting space for older children (the steep open stairs won't suit younger children or less mobile adults). The warmth from the chimney breast will keep the chills at bay in cooler months. Modern skylights brighten the attic space and of course, with little light pollution, the stars can twinkle down at night.

The location is perfect for beachgoers, walkers, surfers, cyclists and those in need of a rest. All the jewels of Gower lie within easy reach and there are restaurants, bars and shops close by - making Malthouse Cottage a perfect destination all year round.

Malthouse Cottage is lovely quirky cottage but it is old, with low lintels, an internal step, steep stairs with limited headroom and open steps to the galleried mezzanine. It is not suitable for the very young or if you have mobility issues but choose it for its characterstyle and position and enjoy!

1 Bedroom sleeping a maximum of 2 adults and 2 older children. Master Bedroom with Double bed on the first floor plus 1 single and further pull out bed on open mezzanine level.

Kitchen, pine table seating 2, country style bespoke kitchen with Belfast sink, gas stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave (washing machine available under cover outside). Plenty of china and cookware. stunning timber-framed glass garden room with seating and garden views.

Grounds terraced cottage garden with outdoor seating and barbeque. Village setting. Caution - entrance into the cottage is down 3 steep steps.
