Bryn Rhydd is a well-equipped, cosy cottage praised for its spectacular location and comfortable setting. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience was positive, with many guests planning to return.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, though a few noted issues with dust and cobwebs upon arrival. The housekeeper's prompt response to concerns indicates a commitment to cleanliness.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its peace, seclusion, and direct access to walks. The spectacular views and the estate's natural beauty contribute to a high rating, despite some comments about the challenging access.
Guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the fire going. Some taller guests mentioned the doors being a bit awkward, and there were comments about the need for an updated shower, slightly lowering the score.
The property is well-equipped, with a generous welcome hamper and a wood burner. However, there were some issues with heating and a padlocked wood store, as well as suggestions for updating certain facilities, which affects the score.
The provision of a welcome hamper, thoughtful touches like outside lights being left on, and pet-friendly amenities were appreciated. It should be noted that such gifts, while delightful, are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Come and stay in one of them - and enjoy walking on the many miles of private woodland paths winding through the Estate.
A traditional stone cottage that has been carefully renovated by the owners to retain its country charm while adding modern touches of comfort throughout. The living area contains two comfortable sofas snuggled around a wood burning stove, but you’ll find the large and light kitchen is a good place to relax too, with its oak floor and large range oven and hob.
The cottage makes the most of its elevated position in the Bodnant Estate, with a southerly facing terrace that overlooks the fields and the forests below. The panoramic views over to the Carneddau mountains are simply breathtaking, and you’ll probably spend a happy hour or two sitting out on the terrace and take in the view.
For larger groups Bryn Mawr, sleeping seven guests is located next to Bryn Rhydd and can also be booked, subject to availability. There are a number of other properties available to book at the Bodnant Estate; Ty Newydd, sleeping eight guests, Ty Cerrig, sleeping seven guests, Lletty, sleeping six guests, Lletty and Annexe, sleeping eight guests, Garth Iwrch, sleeping four guests, Tyddyn Derwen, sleeping five guests, Minafon sleeping two guests, Ty Ucha’r Ffordd, sleeping two guests and Bryn Derw, sleeping 4 guests.
