Boasting an interior full of character and comfortably sleeping up to three guests, Barkalot Cottage is a delightful base for a romantic retreat to North Wales. With off-road parking for one small car (and additional road-side parking nearby) step over the threshold and make your way into your home-from-home. Be greeted by a snug sitting room, traditionally decorated with exposed wooden beams and a rustic woodburning stove, offering a lovely spot to put your feet up and enjoy a moment of peace in front of the television. Utilise the range of modern appliances provided in the charming galley-style kitchen to prepare a romantic meal for two and gather together around the intimate dining table to indulge as you recount the days adventures. As the evening draws to a close head back indoors and climb the stairs to retire to one of the two thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms for the evening, with the choice between an intimate single bedroom and a sumptuous double room, where you can enjoy your favourite film from the comfort of the covers. In the morning, prepare for a new day with a leisurely soak amongst the bubbles in the bath, or if you'd prefer, kickstart your day with an invigorating rinse before stepping out to explore your surroundings. A short drive, or 25 minute walk, will bring you into the heart of the charming town of Denbigh, where the medieval remains of Denbigh Castle, dating back to the 13th century, and the heritage town walls make for a historians paradise; take in the breath-taking views across the rooftops from the historic castle or discover the history of broadcasting in Wales with a visit to Wireless in Wales. Spend a fun-filled day out at the popular seaside resort of Prestatyn, home to a fabulous array of amenities including independent and high-street shops at Prestatyn Shopping Park alongside a selection of delicious eateries; soak in the sun and sand at Prestatyn Beach, test your swing with a game at Prestatyn Golf Club or indulge in the seaside traditional of fish and chips and a scenic stroll along the promenade. No trip to North Wales would be complete without a visit to Snowdonia National Park, the largest National Park in Wales and renowned for its rugged landscape home to an extensive network of walking, cycling and hiking trails; board the historic Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit of Mount Snowdon, or tackle the challenging climb on foot, offering far-reaching views across the scenic countryside as far as the Irish Sea on a clear day. Whisk your significant other away on an intimate escape to Wales with a stay at Barkalot Cottage.
