Whilst the location of the cottage and the gardens are absolutely beautiful sadly the interior let's it down completely. The place has not been properly cleaned in a very long time and needs an extremely deep clean and a full redecoration. There is rotting skirting in the living room, thick mould in the shower cubicle and on the tiles and walls. Windows that don't close in the bedrooms and bathroom. A broken cat flap in the kitchen that lets cold air in. Every room is covered in cobwebs, all skirting boards have a thick layer of dust and dirt, every wall is dirty/marked. The bannister is literally brown from being touched and not wiped down as are all of the doors to all of the rooms. There is a piece of tissue shoved into a hole near a window in the kitchen, dead flies and cobwebs in the "conservatory". Unpleasant smell in the living room and conservatory and the study looks like a dumping ground for unwanted furniture and also smells awful. It is clear the carpets upstairs have recently been replaced but this should have been done after a deep clean and full refurb. The bed in the master bedroom is sat on blocks of scrap wood. The kitchen cupboards are ready for replacing and some of them have an unpleasant smell which passes into the crockery within them. Had there been alternative accommodation available we would have left on the first day instead we spent long days out returning to sleep. We were hugely disappointed. A simple clean won't rectify the issues it has gone too far. Sadly until this place has been completely refurbished I would not recommend staying here.
