Guests say

Beacon Cottage receives high praise for its peaceful rural setting, stunning sea views, and spacious conservatory, making it ideal for relaxation and exploring the Pembrokeshire coast. Guests appreciate the well-equipped, clean, and comfortable accommodation, with easy access for those with mobility needs. While some mention minor issues such as the lack of enclosed garden, basic cooking supplies, and occasional heating or hot water challenges in poor weather, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests keen to return.

Multiple guests comment on the cottage being very clean and well kept, with no significant complaints about cleanliness.

The location is frequently described as peaceful, rural, and offering beautiful views, with easy access to coastal walks and local attractions. The only minor drawback noted is the lack of amenities in the immediate village, but this does not detract from the overall appeal.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, warm, and cosy, with comfortable beds and good accessibility for elderly visitors. A few mention issues with heating and hot water during poor weather, but these are exceptions rather than the rule.

The cottage is well equipped, especially for families and dog owners, with a standout conservatory. Some guests suggest improvements such as a handrail in the shower, a gate for the garden, and more basic cooking supplies. Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., recycling shed door) are mentioned.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

It is a pleasant walk or a short drive to Porthgain from which the Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs both east and west. The dramatic coastal scenery, flower and wildlife are what make Pembrokeshire one of the world’s best holiday destinations (National Geographic voted Pembrokeshire the 2nd best coastal destination in the world). Splendid at all times of year, the explosion of colour with the spring flowers is something to behold!

Neighbouring Abereiddi, has pretty colour-washed former miners’ cottages, black sandy beach (where dogs are welcome all year round) and the remarkable Blue Lagoon. Popular with families, the sand, which is visible at low tide, also contains a high concentration of fossils and is a draw for fossil hunters. Beach 2¾ miles. Pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

We loved the cottage and the position being so close to Porthgain and the coastal path. It's lovely and peaceful and we spent a lot of time in the conservatory which has amazing views.
