The property is rather isolated but on a road and within a few minutes of the Porth Gain. There are two other rentals on the same site, the Bickney being the largest. Parking on site. It has everything you need for a normal holiday including a few portable heaters for when the weather changes. The kitchen equipment was generous.

Propery nice but dated. Internet was dodgy for half our stay.

Good, BUT could so easily be OUTSTANDING with a little effort. The Bickney gives the impression of having fallen into a routine, where the cleaner, decorator and agent fail to notice obvious simple improvements. It needs fresh eyes. Old broken chairs and pallets kept in the garden are overgrown with nettles (alongside rusty and broken bins) rather than cleared. About 10 to 20 years ago a laminated information sign was erected in one of the two porches, but is so faded to be almost indiscernible. Also, as the key-safe is at the other entrance, this porch is redundant. Information sheets include a train timetable over a decade out of date, while instructions on waste/recycling is inadequate. There is no hint of what the wi-fi code is or where the router is located (almost unreachable behind the TV) though other frustrated people had put a helpful warning in the visitor book. In addition please note that although it looks palatial, the cottage is very modest in size. The dining area is about 7 foot square, irritatingly intimate for diners. The inglenook is also about 7 foot square. In these conditions, there is inevitably no space for a freezer (or freezer compartment in the fridge), dishwasher or tumble drier. A lot of the house is crammed with stored garden furniture or with highchair etc, of no use to many visitors. Overall this is very good accommodation, and with simple awareness could become superb.
