About this property

Traditionally styled with a cosy feel, this characterful 17th-century stone cottage is an ideal base for couples and families in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Surrounded by untouched beauty, the views from each and every window are sublime and offer the opportunity to watch the local wildlife in their natural habitats. Talybont-on-Usk (1 mile) is the closest village, a charming spot with plenty to explore from its pretty canal to the cascading waterfalls hidden within the woodland.

Come rain or shine, an evening spent in the cosy living room beside the wood burner is sure to help you unwind. Two armchairs and a sofa ensure space for all the family, with a TV tucked into one corner so that you can sit back and get lost in a film. The fully-equipped kitchen is located next door, with a dining table for four, and it’s a perfect spot to dine together. To share stories or sit and read a good book, the conservatory is a peaceful spot with three large windows creating a panoramic picture frame for the great outdoors. Up the steep staircase are the two bedrooms, each thoughtfully decorated with a double bed and single bed ensuring flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. Completing the property is the vibrant bathroom with a deep tub for evening relaxation. Beyond the property is a beautiful garden with a table and chairs as well as a BBQ to keep you warm whilst the sun sets.

In every direction from your cottage, you’ll find adventure – from the bookshop town of Hay-on-Wye (20 miles) to the whimsical walks in Crickhowell (9 miles) and Abergavenny (15 miles). Lovers of water sports can spend a day at Llangorse Lake (7 miles), where stand-up paddleboards, canoes and pedalos are available to hire, and there are plenty of picturesque spots for a picnic to enjoy before or after your activities.
