You’ll notice the exposed beams, stonework and flagstone floors as well as the contemporary touches that make it such a unique destination. Kick off your boots in the entrance passage and enter the open-plan living space, which boasts an excellent kitchen area, a dining table just for two and a comfortable lounge. A soft rug, large corner sofa and wood burner make this a supremely welcoming space at any time of the year – not to mention the gorgeous garden views through the arched window. When night falls, head upstairs to the stunning bedroom, with its high, pitched roof and chunky wooden beams. A beautiful en-suite bathroom completes the interior. Step outside to sip a drink or take a meal alfresco in your enclosed garden, surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. There are walks and bike rides from your door, and you are also welcome to explore the wider estate, with its woodland and parkland, and to book an on-site spa treatment via the owner.
The cottage is located on a quiet country lane, on a private estate that borders the unspoilt village of Llanfrynach. From here you can hike to the top of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, or head into Brecon, 2.5 miles, for eating, drinking and retail therapy. This lovely market town also has a fascinating cathedral and lovely canalside walks. Crickhowell is just 13 miles, and the book town of Hay-on-Wye is 16 miles.
