Ty Afon is a well-received cottage praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and excellent location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the thoughtful welcome pack. The property is ideal for dog owners and offers lovely walks along the canal. Some minor criticisms include low sofas and the need for minor updates to some equipment.
Guests consistently mention the cleanliness of Ty Afon, highlighting spotless bathrooms and a well-maintained kitchen. The property's overall tidiness contributes to a welcoming atmosphere.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to local pubs, shops, and scenic walks along the canal. Its position in a vibrant village and accessibility to nearby attractions make it an ideal base for exploring the Brecon Beacons.
Comfort is generally well-regarded with mentions of comfy beds and a cosy atmosphere. However, several reviews note that the sofas are low and uncomfortable, particularly for those with mobility issues, which slightly impacts the overall comfort score.
Facilities at Ty Afon are appreciated, especially the fully equipped kitchen and the presence of stairgates. Some guests suggest that a few items need replacing, and there is a desire for more comfortable seating in the lounge, but overall the facilities meet guests' needs.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of a welcome pack with treats such as cake and prosecco. While these gifts are warmly received, it should be noted that such offerings are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

A warm and welcoming cottage in a lovely part of Wales. Ideal for visiting the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and several Castles with the family. Brecon and Abergavenny are within easy reach. There is cycling along the canal towpath.

Perfect for two families of 4. The house is very well appointed and kitchen well stocked. Lovely treats too, thank you. Just couldn’t find any champagne flutes. Cosy cottage but also plenty of space with the separate dining and games rooms. Lovely to have the fire after a chilly wet day. Beds very comfy and bathrooms all looked brand new and super clean. The house is in a great location. Lovely to head out for canal side walks from the house. A short drive to Blaen-y-Glyn Isaf waterfall trail which was easily doable for our 2-5 year old children was well worth it. The Star was temporarily closed when we stayed but we did have a meal in the White Hart which was nice. Overall we would highly recommend a stay at Ty Afon, thank you Caroline!
