Quirky medieval interiors with arched wooden beams and a narrow vaulted ceiling, a cosy wood burner and an elegant walled garden make this period property perfect for an unforgettable escape with a group of friends or family. Bring two canine companions and explore The Black Mountains, stroll around the River Uks and visit the nearby Cathedral town of Brecon during your countryside getaway.
As you enter the property, you’ll be mesmerised by the historic charm of this converted barn. The main living space boasts a grand wooden dining table in the centre of the room, which is decorated with shades of red, wooden furnishings and has an eye-catching exposed stone wall. Warm your toes by the wood burner in the lounge area with ample seating on the soft sofas and armchairs. On the opposite side of the room is a cosy kitchen with a beamed ceiling, ‘L’-shaped fitted units and a central table for plating up a home-cooked meal. Each of the five bedrooms are elegantly decorated with wooden and soft furnishings – consisting of two doubles, a super-king-size, a king-size, and a twin room spread across the ground floor and first floor. Completing the inside of the property is a laundry area and four bathrooms. Outside is a Mediaeval walled garden with a BBQ and furniture.
While away your time in the tranquil countryside of Powys, Wales, and venture into the nearby market town of Hay-on-Wye (1.5 miles), known as the town of books, to discover over twenty quaint bookshops, the imposing Hay Castle, and a handful of independent eateries. Stroll along the River Wye and venture into the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (1.5 miles), where you can challenge yourself to a mountain hike to the summit of Pen y Fan (20.5 miles).
