Rhayader 4.5 miles. A delightful detached cottage set in open countryside with mountain views from all aspects, in a rural location 4.5 miles from Rhayader. Created from two separate properties, this picturesque Rhayader cottage stands alone at the end of a single farm track in the most peaceful location. Full of character, this pretty Rhayader cottage retains many original features including open beams, flagged floors, wooden floorboards throughout the first floor and wonderful open fireplaces. The lovely large kitchen table with settle seating is perfect for family meals, followed by relaxation in the superb sitting room or the very large games room, specifically adapted from an old barn with vaulted beamed ceiling, a cosy woodburner, comfy seats, a TV and DVD, a pool table, table football and table tennis.
Enjoy alfresco dining in the pretty cottage garden, which has an area large enough to enjoy a friendly game of football, or explore the local countryside with walks from the doorstep. You may well see Red Kites overhead, along with all the other birdlife around the cottage, but do visit the Red Kite feeding station in nearby Rhayader for an experience never to be forgotten. The Elan Valley lakes and the many shows and exhibitions at the Royal Welsh Showground offer varied days out for all the family. A terrific, welcoming Rhayader cottage for all ages.
Rhayader is a small Welsh town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and shops, with the added bonus of a leisure centre and regular livestock marts. The annual Royal Welsh Show is just one of the attractions in nearby Builth Wells, where a great variety of exhibitions and sales are held all year round. The beautiful Elan Valley offers a wonderful variety of walks and cycle trails, as well as a visitor centre with café and children's play area.

A blind at bathroom window!!! A small thing but the feeling of privacy is important even if it is only sheep out there. Surroundings amazingâ¦peaceful & quiet..games room an added bonus.. perfect for all ages. Ben..ownerâs son very helpful & friendly & quickly came when we had a problem with key for games room. Plenty to see & do in local area especially if you like walking.

The house was clean and very homely. The beds were comfortable which allowed a good nights sleep and a totally relaxing stay. The kitchen is small and very well equipped and there is the additional utility room if more space is required. The additional games barn with table tennis, table football and pool table gave us many hours of fun and laughter! The cottage is well positioned to allow you to explore wales, it is set in a rural setting but has easy access to large main roads for easy transport. Byrdir cottage is a fabulous holiday cottage, we (4adults and 2 dogs) have had a brilliant week and we wouldnât hesitate to return here again in the future.

In my opinion I donât think the photos do it justice. Itâs so much better than the photos. Love the rustic feel of the place. Totally wowed with it and itâs tranquility.
