Ysgoldy Salem (ref UK11848) has been skilfully converted from the former village Sunday school and reading rooms to offer a luxury base from which to explore this delightful area of southern Snowdonia. Boasting a blissful hot tub, stylish interiors and lovely rural views, Ysgoldy Salem is perfect to return to after a day spent enjoying the myriad of activities on offer with the Cambrian mountains, Cader Idris and the mountains of Snowdonia all within easy reach. The coast at Aberdyfi and Barmouth make for great summer days out, with their wide expanses of golden sands. Beach 21 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Lovely peaceful setting, good size cottage - we were a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers) and a dog and had plenty of space.A new tv in the lounge was fitted during our stay, that was much easier to use.We had no phone signal (vodaphone) but the WiFi was excellent, no issues with phones / tablets connecting. The hot tub was lovely, if a little too warm as we were lucky with warm weather. We averaged 30/60 minutes each way for trips out and about 20 minutes to the largest closest shop (co-op)

We unfortunately found the cottage to be slightly unclean, no hand soap in every bathroom, lumpy pillows, torn duvet cover, no bin bags, downstairs toilet handle broken and not enough dishwasher tablets for one a day. The green bin and recycle bin were overflowing on arrival, which had obviously not been emptied the day before. Also we could not get the satellite box to connect up to the tv downstairs and the remotes upstairs were all broken.This is not what we have come to expect from luxury cottages, the only thing that made this luxury were the mattresses and the hot tub.
