Cuckoo Hill Lodge is in the heart of Mid Wales, surrounded by rolling hills. The lodge is all on the ground floor and has an open plan living area with a wood burner and large TV, and a well equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the private garden you can relax in a hot tub as you ease your walking muscles after a day exploring.
There is plenty to do in this area, and a visit to the Elan Valley is a must as the scenery is just simply stunning, with forested areas, waterfalls and Victorian dams, great for walkers, cyclists and bikers. The Red Kite feeding and rehabilitation centre is not far from the property, and the sheep dogs put on a great show moving the cattle and sheep from the fields before feeding starts. The Gilfach Nature Reserve is a fabulous place to take a walk with its small rapids and waterfalls. The market town of Rhayader has plenty of restaurants and coffee shops, local amenities and stores.
For those wanting to travel further afield, then the market town of Builth Wells is 9 miles away and home to the Royal Welsh Showground, which hosts multiple events throughout the year. The spa town of Llandrindod Wells is 12 miles from the property and hosts a great golf course and lots of open country parks. The Brecon Beacons National Park is 35 miles from the property for those more adventurous, where a day climbing Pen Y Fan is a must, with its panoramic views. Shop, restaurant 2½ miles, pub 3 miles.

Lovely hosts with beautiful welcome pack. Couldn't fault anything except the weather was too hot for the pups. The lodge catered for everything you could possibly think of, for both adults and children and dogs. Although we didn't have any children. All the little touches that were put into place made it so lovely to spend my 60th at. Ann had obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Elan dam was amazing and unfortunately the only day we managed to get out. But it was such a beautiful place to be stuck indoors. Managed a few short trips into town which was lovely. Would highly recommend to the point we have already booked again for next year.

My daughter had stayed at Cuckoo Hill Lodge a few years ago with her little family, they had such a lovely time they decided to go back this year and take mum with them. We stayed from 15th -19th June, I have stayed in a lot of lodges with Cottages.com and this is one of my favourites by far. It was so immaculately clean and really well equipped it was home from home. There were a wide range of dvd’s for all ages and lots of family games, even puzzles which we all took part in completing. Flowers in all the rooms a very special touch, also a beautiful home baked Lemon drizzle cake and eggs, with a bottle of sparkling flavoured water. The outdoors was so spacious for the kids, also an amazing hot tub. We even got to meet Ann’s furry friends, 3 Donkeys, 2 Goats, 3 chickens, 4 cats and the amazing Boris the resident dog a chocolate Lab he was so friendly, my granddaughter fell in love with him. I would definitely recommend this lodge. ♥️♥️
