What our customers say about their holidays

This Spa could be so much more.
I really don't know where to start. My stay consisted of myself, husband child of 12 and 2 elderly parents (in their 80s). After a speedy, courteous check in we were shown by map where our lodge was situated, (note to anyone with a disability the parking can sometimes be a distance from the car parking area to you lodge) was even more of a headache when you have to unpack and make 10 journeys with all you luggage!! Initial look of the lodges and surroundings were really lovely, and well presented. However when we started to unpack and put things away, we immediately noticed that the kitchenette, that is advertised is merely a micorwave/cooker toaster and kettle (how you are supposed to prepare a meal in this was mindboggling), that said there were insufficient plates, bowls etc, no larger bowls to cook anything in microwave/cooker, no chopping boards, sharp knives, wooden spoons, even a tea towels was none existent etc you get the picture like nothing!! I asked reception for these utensils - response was microwave was solely for warming food up?! I did state that it was a microwave/cooker but was informed that they didn't have anything like this, we were given more crockery, and they tried with larger pasta bowls but that was it. We then noticed we didn't have any robes to use the spa, so again went to reception and asked, housekeeping did bring some along and apologised stating they would bring some of the slippers the next day, this never happened! The lodge looked dirty cobwebs in the shower areas, cigarette butts where the hot tub is (at the back of the lodge), there was a brush and dust pan no hoover to clean any spills up. I asked housekeeping how did we get our towels changed I was informed that we had to ask for housekeeping and they would sort this. This never happened. In my parents room there was no blind/curtains at their bedroom window - not what you want when undressing etc - again went to reception this was rectified the next day. The mess from the drilling on the wall was never cleaned away bits of brick dust etc on the floor and nothing to clean it away with again asked for housekeeping never came. Now into day 2 of our 7 night stay and we had a blocked drain in our walk in shower room, the water was pouring into the lounge area, which we had to mop up with towels, my husband spoke to 4 members of staff over 2 days to ask for this to be rectified, and for all the dirty towels to be removed and given clean ones - shower drain was eventually unblocked however the towels were simply pushed into the other corner of the bathroom and no clean ones replace nor did the housekeeping clean the bathroom from the dirty water!! I had to carry all the dirty towels to reception collect clean ones and raise my concern that this was not good enough! We again spoke to staff that they was a leak on the kitchen sink and the en-suite bathroom sink no-one came, and to be honest got sick of going back and forwards to ask for clean towels. At no one given time did any member of housekeeping refresh clean towels, mop the floors hoover around or remove the rubbish ( I may add that there was nowhere to place you household rubbish so once again my husband had to carry and find a larger kitchen bin which was situated around the kitchen area of the spa)!! At the end of our stay another visitor had disposed of there household rubbish pizza boxes etc was strewn all over the lawns in front of us and seagulls and birds were feeding at a frenzy! There was ants and on our 5 night stay when looking at how bad the leak was under the kitchen sink, noticed we had had a visitor in the form of a mouse!! The spa itself was lovely and so were the staff we had encountered, however our stay was really spoilt due to the lack of cleanliness, and constant back and forth with reception. Would never return no would I recommend.

The Lambing Shed was well equipped and lovely and in such a lovely peaceful area ,the courtyard was beautiful.
.The Shower was brilliant .Got online ok ,phone signal was a bit hit and miss the 1st day but after that ,was no problem Our 2 cockapoos, Moose and Daisy enjoyed the courtyard, I felt they were quite safe in there ,but on one occasion,Moose did manage to squeeze through the gate post at the front gates ,this was solely because my husband was on the other side waiting for a taxi ,( to watch the match at Y Bodunig Inn £15 each way ) Moose had never tried to squeeze through it before ,and he didnât attempt it again after that one time ,but it did make me more aware .We picked a brilliant week weather wise .You obviously need a car ,but Prestatyn beach is not to far away ,and dogs are allowed on most of the beaches ,they loved running into the sea ,be careful though as there was some very large Jelly Fish . Had a lovely week and would definitely recommend The Lambing Shed ,and would definitely book here again Thank you for the Milk and Welsh Cakes Thank you for having us ,Sue ,Steve ,Moose and Daisy

What a beautiful village, everything you need and more.
The village residents are so welcoming and helpful. Strength rooms are perfectly positioned at the bottom of the village opposite the waterfall and seating area, which is very well cared for, The apartment is perfect. We were in dog friendly ground floor appt 2 of which there are 2. The upper floors are not for dogs. Everything you needed was in the apptment. Beds were comfy, bathrooms modern and both had showers, one over bath one cubicle. The only thing that was uncomfy was the low settee with no headrest. We used pillows off the bed. It had Alexa, smart TV and the history of the owners group alarm all over the appt was great to see. Gail, the manager was wonderful and also available in the licensed cafe, the Red, next door, just a putty it wasn't open over tea time, but great coffee and cake, the pub a bit further on opp the church served great food though. We had a great stay, wished we had booked longer, and will be back. Thank you so much for letting us stay

Many thanks for a really fabulous place, it was exactly right for all 12 of us.
We all had very spacious bedrooms - really great for the teenagers to have good sized beds, and we fitted two travel cots in, with enough space. The bedroom at the other end of the house gave us a bit of space from the kids and three shower/bathrooms meant no queuing. The little ones just loved the playhouses in the garden and spent many hours running in and out, and the big kids loved the pool table, we had a very complicated knockout game... This suited us, nothing too posh to have us worrying about the kids being kids, but everything we needed. The beach is only a few minutes away and we walked to Rhyl along the front across the beautiful butterfly bridge. Good parking too. And last but not least - very grateful to Steve for sorting a precious left item and posting it quickly. But nothing is more precious than time together as a family, thank you!

We had a lovely time and the owners, who live next door are very nice and friendly.
The Lambing Shed was an excellent and comfy base for a bit of exploring the local area. My only small niggles were the TV channels were mostly glitching and unwatchable. I think we found 3 channels that worked, but on the third or fourth day we realised they had supplied a Netflix account which solved most of this. The only other thing we found was the Dishwasher was sometimes problematic and wouldnât always turn on, when it did this - we just washed up be hand. For anyone booking the Lambing Shed in the future, they will have a lovely break, we would return without question. Although anyone booking needs to know it is located down some very Welsh single track lanes and at times can result in a long reversing manoeuvre if you are unlucky enough to come head on with another vehicle, so you need to be a competent driver, but itâs worth it.
