What our customers say about their holidays

Pentre Court is an absolute gem of a holiday cottage.
The owner (Manon), who lives next door, has tried to think of everything guests could need. The cottage is approximately half a mile out of Abergavenny (we walked it but my elderly parents found the very narrow and badly maintained pavement a bit unnerving); itâs on a bit of a bad bend, directly opposite a pub, so itâs easy to find providing you go slowly (itâs a 60mph road). Itâs well appointed with nice fixtures and fittings and is very spacious. Lovely big kitchen with every utensil you could need. Thereâs a secure garden for dogs. On arrival we found a nice welcome hamper, but what made it special was that a Happy Birthday balloon had been included - so often itâs the little things that mean the most. Lovely touch!! Comfy beds, comfy sofas, decent quality walk-in showers (thereâs no baths). Nice warm cottage. Honestly cannot fault Pentre Court in any single way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldnât hesitate to come back again. Thank you Manon for making it such a lovely experience.

We stayed at The Coach House over New Year and from the moment we walked through the front door we felt the welcome comfort of the property.
It was warm and cosy and very clean and a basketful of logs and kindling had been thoughtfully left out so that we could relax in front of a real fire without the necessity of visiting the shops. Milk, tea, coffee and sugar were left for us and we made a much needed cup of coffee on arrival, and dipped into the bowl of chocolates left out for us. Yum! We were sorry not to meet Nicola and Harry, who were on their own holiday, but Nicola was just a phone call away should we need anything and she kept in touch with us during our stay to make sure we had no problems. The weather was against us, but we still managed to get out for a few walks with our dog, Pip, and loved the scenery. Sadly long walks were not possible on this occasion as we would all have got soaked. But everyone we did meet was very friendly and we felt as though we belonged there. We so enjoyed our 3 night break and will definitely be returning, hopefully meeting Nicola and Harry on our return. Thank you for an amazing break!

We spent the first week of December in this fabulous cottage.
The house was lovely and warm when we arrived and we immediately felt at home. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well equipped. The kitchen deserves a separate mention as it had everything we needed to cater for a party of 7 for the week and even the dogs had their own bowls! The welcome basket was packed to the brim with quality products many of them local to the area. The milk and butter we found in the fridge when we arrived was much appreciated. The cottage is in a great location with lovely walks from the door and Abergavenny is easily accessible by foot, bus or car. There is comprehensive information about tourist attractions near to the cottage and further afield. A very big thank you to Manon for her warm welcome and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to your lovely house.

Builth House was beautiful and exactly as described.
The kitchen had everything we needed (except a garlic press) and our two chef's found it most enjoyable cooking there. The bedrooms were roomy with plenty of wardrobe space (and hangers) beds and bedding all super clean and comfy. The whole place was spotless and the living/dining room perfect for four adults to eat, watch TV, play cards or just sit and relax. The garden would have been the perfect sun trap and terrace had it not rained ALL week. It was perfect for our two cocker spaniels who could go outside safely with the front gates securely closed they also "enjoyed" their dirty paw wash downs using the wall mounted hose or "Dog Station" as we called it. A really lovey stay - we would definitely return. Thank you.

We are quite elderly and not as agile as we used to be.
This cottage is not a place for people like us with its narrow, steep staircase with two sharp turns and deep risers. There is also a deep step from the kitchenette to the front room. However the place was spotless and upstairs the bath [shower] room and the bedroom are very nice with an efficient shower and comfortable bed. Downstairs the front room, which is entered directly from the street, is quite dour and would benefit from some bright soft furnishings or pictures. Surprisingly, there is little noise from the road. There is no microwave in the cottage which is a significant omission.
