What our customers say about their holidays
Ms Starkey - Verified booking
The cottage is spacious and bright, the kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of room. The location is very pretty, and quiet apart from when the brewery is open, as the bedrooms back onto it, our first night especially was a struggle to sleep before midnight because of the noise. The carrot cake was a lovely touch, but was really surprised to not have more of a welcome pack for the price of the property, at the very least a small bottle of milk as there aren't shops very close by. The bedrooms are nice but only 2 of them have wardrobes and not long ones at that, so hanging certain clothes wasn't possible. They only have wooden blinds in too, so if you struggle to sleep in bright rooms, this is probably not the location for you. Showers could do with a really thorough clean around the grout, whilst the cubicles were very clean, the condition of the grout and black mould was quite off-putting again for the price of the property was unexpected. The front door is quite difficult to open. At times it opens like a charm, others it will take 2-3 attempts. Front room is lovely, but the sofa is incredibly low. With all 3 of us being disabled, we found it very difficult to get up off. Again, be mindful if you are elderly or have mobility issues. The owners were accommodating when we arrived early and wanted to leave a car whilst we went for lunch, and also provided us with a loo roll that was missing from the en suite and the recipe for the cake. It's a nice place, but not as good as we were expecting. Not somewhere that we'd return to but good to get away.

The bungalow is lovely & in a great location.
The yummy treats & starter essentials were much enjoyed & appreciated. The plumbing needs a bit of attention, bath water starts hot, shower lever tests your muscles & shower head needs centralising, but advised that was being looked at after my stay. I forgot to mention the back outside light doesnât work & the front one is a bit dim. Also, being on my own, a blind/curtain at the kitchen window would have been nice for when coming out of the bathroom & the bedroom curtains are lovely but cover the radiator. If the parking area wall could be taken back a bit more, Iâm sure it would benefit everyone but Iâm sure youâve looked at that already. Please do not take these comments as complaints, rather as constructive comments. Overall, a lovely relaxing stay, managed a lovely comfy sleep when I could switch off from a stressful house purchase & me & my dog enjoyed chasing each other around the garden. Thank you.

Lovely spacious living and kitchen area with plenty of seating and well equipped kitchen. Great fully enclosed garden perfect for dogs. Sadly only two out of the four bedrooms have wardrobes, the other two have four or five hooks on the wall and that’s it, thankfully for us, we was only using three of the bedrooms so we used the spare as storage but I think if all 4 of them were being used, I definitely think storage would be an issue. This property has a septic tank system so would advise taking air fresheners as can be quite smelly. Great pub onsite which is open Thursday and Friday evenings. Good location for travelling around the area.

One of the most well appointed ‘cottages’ we have stayed in on our travels in the UK during past 15 years. Peaceful and relaxing setting although the weather detracted from outside use. Rather too remote for my wife and her sister who are in their mid 70s and like to walk to a shop for daily provision, we had to go by car everywhere - which meant I had to drive everyday, everywhere, and I’m even older ! Never mind we had a good time getting around the local villages and eating out. Great Badgfest evening, my style of music, nearly asked for a turn on the drums, although I’m out of practice by 15 years or so.

Fabulous cottage. We found the layout to be perfect for our group of 5 adults and 2 children. The bedroom corridor has a door which can be closed once the children were in bed, so less likely to be disturbed by the adults, music, tv, games etc. Very well equipped, lovely and cosy in the winter, with plenty of lovely hot water for baths and showers which were also lovely and powerful. Bonus was the friendly horse (and owner!) literally outside the back door. There was a super homemade apple crumble, totally unexpected and very tasty. I cannot endorse it any more than to say that everyone wants to go back.
