What our customers say about their holidays

We have just stayed in Apple Loft which we really enjoyed.
The property is a period conversion, with lots of old world charm. It has all you would expect from a modern property but it's clearly a building with lots of history, with exposed wooden beams in most rooms. The lounge kitchen dinner has 2 two seater comfy leather sofas, smart TV with dvd player and a log burner which the owner kindly provides logs and kindling for, the kitchen has a electric cooker, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher. There's a laundry bar with shared use of a washing machine and dryer. The double master bedroom is accessed via a steep wooden staircase which before arrival we thought might be an issue but it wasn't at all. The bedroom is huge and very light and airy with 2 velux roof lights windows, a regular window overlooking the farm and a door the the back garden area. The twin room is accessed via stairway with approximately 5 steps the room has two single beds and a window overlooking the farm. The wooden beams in this room are quite low making this room better suited for children. The bathroom has a lovely freestanding bath and a shower cubicle, washing hand basin and WC. It also has a heated towel rail and fan heater. There is also a large entrance cloak area to store shoes and coats. Parking a right outside of the property. Thanks to Vicki and Chris for a lovely stay, all of the little extras supplied are really useful and much appreciated. Thanks for the scones, jam and clotted cream they were delicious, even having milk, tea, coffee and sugar on arrival was really thoughtful and very handy after a long journey. We really hope to stay again in the future. Best wishes for Lambing season. Mark, Sandra, Bruno and Angela X

Absolutely loved our time in the Apple Loft on Menaburle Farm, would definitely go back and have recommended it to everyone that will listen!
This is an old building situated on a working farm so bugs, single lane roads, farm smells and uneven flooring are all part of the package. Wasn't an issue for us but worth noting if any of those things are a big issue for you. There was cake, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk waiting for us when we arrived and all cleaning products were provided. The lodge itself is beautiful with comfy clean beds and a wood burner for the evenings. The owners are nothing short of phenomenal, taking our girls out to feed the animals and ride the ponies and they seemed genuinely offended when we asked them how much we owed them! They were really helpful with advice on the local area too. The lodge is about a 15 minute drive from the nearest village Lostwithiel, where there are pubs, shops, a co-op and chippy. The hours they serve food in the pubs vary so check ahead. It's also within 90 minutes of the whole of Cornwall, within 15 minutes of the major roads to pretty much everywhere. Dogs are welcome in the lodge and in most of the local pubs and the lodge has a fenced garden to keep the doggy safe. Cornwall overall is amazing for dog owners with even some big attractions allowing dogs in. I can't recommend the Apple Loft highly enough, if you have kids who love animals you just will not get a better place to stay! Very reasonably priced and

Had a wonderful time at Groom cottage.
Itâs a very cute cottage within a complex of cottages. It has all you need and was really well equipped. Susan the owner was lovely, the only problem we had was a broken clothes airer which she replaced immediately. She also provided us with beach chairs and a windbreaker which was fab! The shared pool was brilliant, we used every day, the kids play area was popular with my eldest, but good to know you cannot see the play area from Groom Cottage. The local area is lovely would particularly recommend sandymouth beach ant Tintagel Castle. The cottage is small, the bedrooms are a decent size but living space is small so was a bit of a squeeze for 4 of us. The outside space is very cute with 2 small courtyard style gardens and a front patio. The courtyard gardens are filled with plants and very private which is nice. The front patio is more spacious and less private. The one and only thing I would change would be to add black out roller blinds to the upstairs bedroom windows so you have the option to use them. The south facing light comes in very early in summer, for a lot or people this is no problem but if like me I get woken up by light very easily. But that is the only thing. We had a wonderful stay and we were blessed with amazing weather. Would recommend.

There aren't enough words in the English vocabulary to express my love for this place, so uncharacteristically, I will aim to be brief.
Just to put into context - I stayed here on my own. Location: Rural, beautiful, spectacular, peaceful, horses, chickens, cats, dogs. A working farm and livery...you can choose to chat to the horse riders or just go about your own business. People: wonderful, helpful, kind. The owners and farm staff are amazing. A real warm atmosphere. Area: I used as a base and travelled out everyday to explore. In a nutshell - whether you are a lone traveller or a group - this is a perfect spot for relaxation, reflection if you want to keep yourself to yourself - however, if you want interaction, then all the people who use the livery are more than happy to chat and let you pet their horses (ask first of course) - the Apple Loft itself, is a beautiful authentic cottage with all the mod cons. You will want for nothing. I can't wait to go back and am planning my next visit already. Lastly, a big thank you to Vicki and Chris the amazing owners, Liz who helps out at the farm (we had such a laugh together) and of course, the beautiful Bisto (dog), Bill (cat) and all the horses who live there. xxxxxx (OK, so I struggle to be brief).

Everything about our stay at apple loft exceeded our expectations.
Vicky sent an amazing email in advance about their changes during this covid crisis and we felt safe even before we got there. The accommodation was spotless and we were welcomed with scones and cream. Vicky was brilliant and so very helpful as was Liz who also works on the farm. It was the most peaceful and tranquil place away from the crowds but so close to everything in every direction. We vsisited beaches, Fowey aquarium and boat ride, Bodmin moor with the hurlers stones and golitha falls and caves, lots of walking and loads of fun. There were plenty of places to eat locally too as well as in the accommodation which was brilliantly equipped. Vicky was amazing with my children and allowed them to help out with the farm duties every morning, which they can't stop talking about to anyone who will listen. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough and will be returning next year for sure.
