What our customers say about their holidays

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and loved the cottage and the site it was on.
We enjoyed having the extra bathroom and a downstairs loo. The addition of travel cots, high chairs, stair gates and booster seats was great with a little one. The bedding was a little rough - the double bed had a very small double quilt on it, which meant the quilt didn't cover both the people. The mattress protectors should have been thrown out years ago!!! The quilts and pillows were extremely thin and worn, and the headboards were all broken where they fitted the top of the beds. The en-suite taps had to be turned and turned before we could get the water out, and the en-suite loo didn't fill up with water at all well after a flush - my husband managed to fiddle with it to make it better, however it was still very slow to fill and caused a lot of noise at night. The microwave didn't heat very well, and the minute button didn't work. The oven took a lot of figuring out, and we had to put the timer on to make it work, which meant the timer had to go on for longer to take into account the warming up time of the oven. The dishwasher was a great addition - however more mugs particularly, plates, cutlery and bowls were needed to account for those in the dishwasher which had been used earlier in the day. The washing machine and airers were great particularly with a 2 year old. The large towels we're a great size, and good quality. Maybe a few more hand towels for the bathrooms. The heaters upstairs we good, however the ones downstairs being storage heaters meant that we couldn't get the heat we wanted when we needed it. Furniture downstairs was good and comfy, having internet is a must these days - however it was very slow. Overall it was a great time away - I have only mentioned the above, as some of the little niggles can be rectified for future customers easily, and bits like the bedding definitely need sorting ASAP. I have run a Retreat and Conference centre so I know how all of these things are important.

Bramble Cottage is in a holiday complex, something which we would normally avoid if possible.
However, the estate was nicely laid out and landscaped. The house was very clean though the kitchen was lacking one or two items including a cafetiere, small side plates and teaspoons. Parking is limited to one vehicle per property. However, there are a small number of unnumbered parking space - albeit that these might be a little distance away - if there is more than one car visiting. At the time we visited there were many empty properties which led to a peaceful stay. However, I would think that this may get a little busy and noisy in the height of summer and school holidays with families visiting. The property isn't terribly convenient for the beaches. The closest is Swanpool Beach (parking limited and costs £3 - even if you're just calling for a coffee) alternatively this involves a 20 minute walk through the estate and down a very narrow - and sometimes busy - lane with no pavements and traffic passing very closely. Regarding the general area, our big disappointment was the excessive cost of parking. On one day alone, because we moved about, we paid £15 in parking. There are some beautiful open gardens in the area, but take plenty of cash or join the National Trust if you want to visit them all. Trebah Garden was our favourite (difficult of anyone with mobility issues - but they have scooters to hire if you book in advance). I guess the big question is, 'would we go again?'. School holidays and high season, probably not. Low season - quite probably.

We just had a wonderful week staying at âEvergreenâ.
A short drive from the main road, brings you to a small Hamlet. The cottage looks âpicture postcardâ and sits proudly on a little green. The cottage itself is a bit tired, but very cosy. Low ceilings would make anyone over 5â 10â, a bit of a challenge! The Galley kitchen, whilst well equipped, is not user friendly, for instance, the dishwasher is in the adjoining âutilityâ room, so we found it easier washing up. There is not much room for storing non perishables, though the tall fridge was a godsend. The utility room with adjoining shower room, was great for decamping after a day at the beach. The staircase leading upstairs is not for someone with impaired mobility. Bedrooms are very cosy, beds super comfy and we all slept incredibly well. The bathroom is VERY tired. Polystyrene ceiling tiles?! Old bath and loo. Mixer tap shower head. Horrible blind. We managed ok, but it could be so much better. View from bathroom is stunning. We were a party of 5, including a 6 year old. I felt it would have been a bit of a squeeze with another couple. The location is absolutely amazing. Short walk to the coastal path that leads to a secret cove, (not for impaired mobility). Praa Sands a 10 min walk/drive, amazing for families. A Short drive takes you to, The Lizard, St Michaels Mount, Porthleven etc. âFlambardsâ 15 mins away. So much more to see and do, a week was not enough!

From the delicious homemade scones and prosecco, to the luxurious White Company pure linen bedding and the gorgeous shabby chic furnishings and arts and crafts, this cottage delighted in every way.
The kitchen, although small, was far better equipped than almost every place we have ever stayed in (and that is a lot), with a great range cooker, endless hot water and superb appliances. We stayed in October and the central heating was really efficient - already on for our arrival with logs and kindling for the fire. The house was cosy and warm with no trace of damp, and we looked forward to returning every afternoon to enjoy sharing good food and wine and playing games at the large dining table and relaxing in front of the fire. Perfect for dogs, they can enter via the back door which opens into the utility room which is spacious and warm with a hardy floor for wet and muddy hounds to dry and clean up in before enjoying the fireside! (works for muddy/sandy humans too - with shower adjoining utility!!). We could hear the sea on quiet nights and the location was peaceful and safe for pets and children. Two of our party had very successful fishing from the rocks off Rinsey Cove at high tide. It was a longer and steeper climb down to the cove than we expected, so be prepared to give yourself a workout. We really loved Evergreen and would certainly return.

Beautiful, well appointed home.
Felt very cosy with small luxuries like faux fur throws, hot water bottles for each bed, plenty of deep soft pillows, and a great kitchen ( v small but everything you need is there): Le Creuset cookware, lovely crockery. The owner has a fine artistic eye and the home has wonderful pieces of furniture and pottery. Has board games, DVDs and a few books too. Not âonâ the coast paths but only a 3 min walk diwn a quiet path. You can see the sea from the bedrooms at the front of the house. Spectacular beaches/path. Praa Sands is a lovely long sandy beach, coast path to Porthleven is wild and rugged but easily walkable. Worth the walk for a pub lunch/fish and chips sitting on the harbour front. Space for all your walking gear and to do your washing/drying in a roomy utility area if needed. Our dog loved it. Lovely touch: dog bowls, poo bags and dog chews provided. Sitting room has a log fire too. We would definitely recommend this house. Only one negative that you canât do anything about: relatively low ceiling in sitting room for my husband but heâs 6ft 3....we all loved the house though!
