What our customers say about their holidays

We've had a fantastic week in this beautiful house, thank you! There's so much to do even without having to leave wells - walking to the beach, crabbing on the harbour, wondering around the shops... Lots of great places to eat too - some how managed to get into The Globe for Sunday dinner without booking, and also enjoyed meals at The Bowling Green Inn (handily around the corner!) and the pigs in Edgefield. Enjoyed the train to Walsingham and a trip to Holkham Hall. The playground was a huge hit! Also loved ice creams from pretty much every outlet in Wells, and the playground behind. Perfect location as we've been able to walk everywhere, and so handy to have the Coop down the road. We love the house too - if you're ever thinking of selling up, let us know! we'd love to come back and hope to make a future booking - will be getting pestered by our children until we do! Thank you! P.s. Thank you for the cake!

A good base for exploring Suffolk & nearby is Halesworth - a pretty market town with a variety of independent shops & eateries plus a pleasant riverside walk.
The âcottageâ adjoins the ownersâ house and Jacqui came round to welcome us on the first day with homemade jam. A welcome pack was provided. The property is a listed building and it has been sympathetically restored whilst including modern comforts. Thereâs an area outside the cottage designated for the use of guests during their stay, part of much larger communal gardens, but it isnât obvious from the property description that it is not entirely enclosed and close to a very busy A road. Also the communal gardens have ponds & hidden ditches (part of a moat). The ownersâ dog and dogs staying at the other holiday cottages share the gardens. We were disappointed that we couldnât enjoy sitting out in âourâ garden with our dogs off their leads. If you have children they would also need to be supervised. If we didnât have the dogs with us we would have had a more enjoyable stay.

We had a super time at Tigh-na-Mara, it’s a great cottage, a hop skip & jump from the beach and 5 minutes to the harbour square. For our four legged member, perfect enclosed patio (escape proof) & enclosed kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped, has the option of a bath or shower, very cosy and possibly the best holiday cottage bed for comfort we’ve stayed in. It was fabulous to hear the sea lying in bed. We relaxed very quickly and would love to return. Porthleven is a lovely quaint fishing port. One helpful point for future visitors is the parking, the space is not a problem but on exiting, there are often parked vehicles opposite. My husband managed to negotiate his L200 out but with care. This is not a complaint or to put people off, just the heads up. There’s also plenty to do in Porthleven that you don’t need to leave. Happy holidays if you choose here.

Wow! Where do I start?! We have stayed in cottages all over the country and this gem of a place has been the best! Lovely helpful owners who told us about some fantastic place to visit. The welcome hamper was amazing and the freshest eggs from the cottages new chickens! The cottage was so comfortable and cosy and had everything you could possibly need, set in a stunning little village. The walks from the cottage were superb. If you don’t fancy cooking there are numerous places nearby to eat for example Millers farm shop for breakfast and snacks and a little shopping, to Tuckers thatched pub just a few miles away. I would recommend River Cottage Kitchen in Axminster for an evening meal, delicious! Over all I would absolutely return to this cottage. We simply did not want to leave! Thank you 😊

Really nice cottage, although all on different levels the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was beautiful, but in the basement, this meant having to navigate the winding narrow staircase down two floors from the bedroom, definitely not for the faint hearted or anybody slightly infirm. Superb welcome hamper was very welcome. Safe easy parking for the car. Small but well kept village location, nothing there but the Kings Arms pub, which was very welcoming serving good food and dogs welcome. Long drive to anywhere of interest along narrow twisting lanes for miles. Craig who met and us on arrival proved to be a very good and always on hand when needed. Overall a pleasurable three day stay. Fully recommended, but not for anybody unsteady on the legs because of the stairs.
