What our customers say about their holidays

Many thanks for a wonderful stay.
The cottage was in a superb location and we spent the week walking the coast path from Porlock to Ilfracombe. We were unable to get the televisions working or the video player but once we had established how to connect the cables, we found the signal so weak that we were unable to watch a programme. We realise is not the fault of the owners. We had no problems at all with the cleanliness of the property. Having lived in an old terraced cottage ourselves, we found the same issues at Harbour Cottage as we experienced at home: black sooty like dust escapes from the loft spaces and was to be found on the floors and surfaces in tiny amounts. We have no complaints about this at all - part of the charm of living in a period property and it was evident that the property is cleaned regularly and to a high standard. Thanks for the milk left in the fridge and tea/coffee. This was lovely as we had come on a long journey and arrived late at night. The outside spaces are lovely. A cream tea was enjoyed on the top terrace using the jam left by the owners. Thank you for a lovely stay. Kay and Neerose

I booked Highview, Lee for a family get together at Christmas. There were 10 of us ranging from 88 years "young" to 11 which consisted of 4 generations. With the choice of bedrooms in the house, 3 on the top floor and 3 on the ground, it was ideal and the lounge with large window overlooking the valley was something else. We all enjoyed the holiday, the large table which meant we could all sit down together for meals and still have a little room to move around. . The games room was great for the kids and they played darts and table football most days. The house was down a very small country lane - just big enough for the car and very steep going out back down the lane - not ideal for people with walking difficulties and a car is a must. Tried the pub in the village - The Grampus which was very nice. The housekeeper was contactable even over the Christmas break and very helpful. We all had a great time and I was so pleased to have made the booking. No complaints at all. 10 out of 10. Many thanks

A mixed review.
Great location and the cottage had a well equipped kitchen. The garden is a nice feature and is sunny until the end of the day. However the main bathroom being on the ground floor, while the bedrooms are on the second floor is not ideal. We had the second bedroom set up as a twin room. The room is tiny, you can barely walk around the beds and neither of us could unpack as there was not sufficient storage. The twin beds were incredibly narrow (about the width of a pillow) but the quilts were single size and kept falling off during the night. The ground floor bathroom has no ventilation so it was very steamy and musty. The cottage is nicely decorated and has attractive artwork. Being a cottage there are lots of stairs, so it would not suit elderly people or families with young children. I would recommend the cottage for couples. The proximity to local shops, pubs and the harbour is one of the best things about the property.

We originally booked the Bella Mere but, apparently owner cancelled 2 weeks before our stay?
So after numerous phone calls to yourselves we managed to rearrange a different property on the same site which was a day later each end of the holiday, which meant we had less time with friends we went with. We stayed in the MoJo which was very unsettling & disruptive because of numerous issues we had with the hot water from day one & throughout which made us leave your site a day earlier . Before we set off to stay at the Mojo we were given £50 compensation which was really unacceptable as the arrangements & days were changed thatâs including the arrangements we made back home too. We would like this matter looked into & compensation considered because of the various hot water & disruption throughout our stay, including days out with our friends who were staying in the ocean terrace.

Generally the lodge is ok Good showers and all items worked and it was clean and the following points donât stop a holiday being good but do take away from a really good experience and if someone does not tell you the little things you canât resolve them It is tired the just double bed has roll together now so one of us had to sleep in the spare room To get some sleep The crockery needs a go through as some of it is worn and chipped There are 3 blown double glazing windows in the lounge The kitchen blind needs a clean The decking needs a clean and a restain and 1 of the one decking rails has come away Our holiday was not impacted by these points apart from the bed if you want top ratings attention to detail has to happen
