  Overall, we had a really great time at the cabin and would go again.

  Very clean property and well equipped. Appreciate the tea and coffee box and small dishwashing liquid. Also, really appreciate the small bottle of milk in the fridge. Things that could make the property more comfortable 1. Warmer lighting: white bulbs aren't great for a cottage/cabin. Make it feel less relaxing. 2. Retractable awning: It rains a lot in England, an awning would allow guests to sit on the deck and enjoy the views. 3. Wifi: it's not that expensive to add wifi to the cabins. Sykes confused us with the instructions they sent about checking in. Email said we need to collect keys from reception but there was no one there when we arrived at around 5pm, we tried calling the number provided but no one responded for 20 mins so we just went to the cabin and found it open with the keys inside. We did get a text from the number we were calling, a few minutes later, confirming that it is self check-in.

  Well, without a doubt, this has been the loveliest week of 2020 so far - a wonderful holiday in this gorgeous setting after months of lockdown, so welcome and needed! We have loved staying in Summercombe - a beautiful and comfortable base for our North Devon break. Thankfully, the weather has been mostly kind to us (and we chose a good week, escaping the heatwave back at home!), so we spent several days at Woolacombe beach (large so good for social distancing) and also enjoyed fish and chips and watching people crab at Combe Martin. The kids had fun at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, and we had a lovely walk along the river to the pebbly beach at Heddon Valley. We'd love to stay longer. Thank you for the very-welcome pack, and the fresh eggs a lovely surprise! Summercombe has been one of the nicest holiday homes we've stayed in, and we'll be back!

  On arrival at Summercombe after a long, difficult year we were not disappointed. The cottage and its facilities were superb and all the little extras made it that extra special. Fantastic setting friendly and helpful owners and the most adorable pet (Teddy) ❤ We have loved staying here - plenty to do. Lots of local walks (very hilly) and amazing hills. The coastal path from Hele Bay to Combe Martin has some glorious views and hiring of kayaks to explore the coastal coved is a must. The beach and sand dunes of Saunton Sands with a spot of lunch at the beachside grill is also recommended. Our last evening was spent on Barricane Beach where the curry is so tasty. It was so relaxing watching the waves, chilling out. Summercombe has been the best holiday cottage we have stayed in and will definitely return. The Gladstones - Yorkshire

  We understand that plans are in place tgo onstall wi-fi in the chalets which would be great (unfortunately, we live in an age where you can't escape the need!

  ). Two nights, the bar wasn't open so I could not get in to do some urgent work, and with no 13amp socket outside of the bar on the decking (and fading light) it was bit inconvenient but i managed. With regards to the chalet, it was great and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot tap on the wash basin drips/runs unless you have a very strong grip and the wire coating at the head end of the shower is coming away. I am just pointing these out in case you haven't noticed them, but they di not spoil what was a very enjoyable break for us. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming. Thank you.   We had a fabulous stay in this wonderful cottage. The property was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and fully equipped. Even down to simple things like washing liquid, fabric softener, salt, pepper, and even fresh fruit! On the morning of the first day we were left fresh eggs from the farm and a pot of honey from their bee hives. Lovely little touches which made our stay even better and more enjoyable. This was by far the best cottage we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The location is perfect for access to lots of places to visit and a supermarket, yet feels so remote when you arrive. It’s easy to find and there’s plenty of parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
