  I couldn't recommend this cottage more highly.

  For our party - me, my two sons and their partners and my 2 year old grandson - it was absolutely perfect. We had everything we could possibly need and more. The large bedroom up the stairs off the kitchen was particularly good for the toddler. Far enough away from the living room for him not to be disturbed after bedtime, but close enough for us to hear him if he woke up - and absolutely huge. And the other 2 bedrooms are equally lovely but on the other side of the house so we weren't disturbed if he did wake in the night. The kitchen was brilliant for a large party, very well equipped and big enough for my sons, who are both very keen cooks, to not get in each other's way as there's so much space. And no queuing for bathrooms as there's a big full bathroom next to the kitchen and an immaculate new shower room between the 2 upstairs bedrooms. What really made the holiday for us though was the helpfulness of the owners who live next door. Karen really did go out of her way to make the holiday special. She was even apologising for the weather. It poured down for most of the time we were there and she was emailing me with suggestions of things we could do in the rain. Fortunately it didn't rain on the Sunday afternoon so we were able to do the amazing Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and the cottage was so lovely we had a great time anyway. There were gorgeous biscuits, marmalade and a bottle of wine for us on arrival and when I emailed Karen to let her know we'd run out of wood for the log burner we returned to find 2 big bags of wood left for us in the garage. And the dogs were in dog heaven, walking in the fields around the cottage or out and about all day, then flopping in front of the log burner at night. We only stayed for a long weekend this time, but we all agreed we'd definitely go back for longer next time.

  The cottage really is amazing, everything you need to make it a perfect stay.

  The kitchen is really well equipped. Plenty of space not to fall over each other, and the games made some amazing family evenings together, something we miss with normal busy lives. The dogs loved paddling in the stream and exploring the many smells. The cottage is so peaceful just the noise of the trees whistling in the wind, the birds singing and the stream at the end of the garden. It was just what we needed to get away from our busy lives. Local pubs a walk away serving amazing food, we didn't have a bad meal out trying different places. The owners live next door which was absolutely fine, they left us alone to enjoy our holiday, but were there in case we had any problems or issues. I would definitely recommend Mill dam cottage and a cottage I would return to. Truely fabulous x

  Where to start.

  Everything was just fantastic. The day before the owners emailed us information on how to get there and Everything else we needed to know about the property. As soon as we walked in it just felt right. A perfect home from home. There's everything you would ever need while away from home. Karen and Ryan live next door so thats super handy if you needed any advice on walks or any other local information. All you need is each other and some boots to get out for a multitude of different walks right from your doorstep. We've just had a blast and really don't want to go home. This place is utterly charming and we can't wait to return. Thanks very much Karen and Ryan, lovely people and even lovelier place. Take care, Hazel, Ray and Missy.

  Had the most fabulous week at Mill Dam Cottage with our 3 dogs.

  The cottage was beautiful with everything you could ever need to make your stay comfortable, milk in the fridge for arrival along with lovely biscuits, wine and jam. The bed was so comfortable which is a big thing for me as I have a really bad back and suffer from arthritis so normally when I go on holiday i don't get much sleep - this stay was different as the mattress like everything else in the cottage is of a very good quality. and sooooo comfortable. Lots to do and see in the area and some very beautiful walks to enjoy with the dogs. Karen was such a fabulous host and gave us loads of information on the best dog friendly walks to go on. Cant recommend this cottage enough - you wont be disappointed.

  This is a beautiful property with exceptional quality furnishings & equipment.

  Karen the owner is so eager to please her guests & even went the extra mile when we enquired if the property had a steamer for cooking veg, even though we were happy to bring our own. Karen clearly had gone out to buy one for us & text to say so before we left. The weather could not have been worse but we did get to enjoy a few hours of sun in the gorgeous garden one afternoon with the best garden furniture ever!! The location is great for Skipton which is a favourite or ours & also Settle which is a nice Dales village to wander around. We would definitely return at some point but will wait till a "guaranteed heatwave" is forecast so we could delight in more sightseeing of this gorgeous area.
