What our customers say about their holidays

Looks even lovelier in real life!
We stayed as a large family group. This cottage has everything you need and lots of more. There is a stair gate for children upstairs which was reassuring for my Daughter, who has 2 children. We requested a travel cot and a high hair which were both set up on arrival. There are multiple rooms to enjoy, to use in different ways. Quiet reading, TV and games night. There is a downstairs shower room. Had a lot of fun in the games room Accessibility: All the bedrooms are upstairs, one flight (wide and solid banisters). Please note the bedroom with 4 single beds, is at the opposite end to the childrenâs room, with the den. The den was lovely and our youngest grandchild, had a lot of fun playing there. The garden is very pretty and relaxing to sit and enjoy the birds and peace. Safety: The garden has a lawned area to the side which is slightly higher. Location: Lovely, shops, pubs (Castle Inn delicious food and great service) and cafes all walking distance. Accessibility: This is an old village, pavements are narrow in places, but I managed my wheelchair/walker. Beach (Parrog) at the bottom of the road, which is also accessible if you are an ambulatory wheel chair user. There are no phone services in the area unless you are on EE, however cottage WiFi is very good. (We were glad to get away from phones/screens) We had a lovely stay and definitely recommend this accommodation. We had 2 small issues, which didnât impact on our stay, but were both mentioned to the owner. The owner communicated quickly and offered to resolve immediately. Ideas: I didnât see a BBQ, could be considered. Thank you, Ty Morlais for wonderful holiday!

This is a wonderful cottage, superbly equipped, with ample off-street parking and located in the centre of Newport (or as I prefer to call it, Trefdraeth) and we are grateful to Glyn and Alison for allowing us to rent it for a relaxing week.
We were fortunate to have superb warm, sunny weather which necessitated visits to the numerous, walking-distance pubs and restaurants, including Glyn and Alison's lovely Castle Inn, with its dog-friendly beer-garden (less than 200 yards away). The cottage garden chairs are the only items we can think of that could be improved on, hopefully for another stay in '24. A very nice gesture, was the provision of a 'welcome gift' of wine, milk, coffee etc. Also, on forgetting and leaving a personal item at the cottage on departure, Glyn found time to mail the item to my home, within days - for which I am very grateful. Traeth Mawr (big beach) is less than 10mins (7 miles) away, with clean water, backed by dunes and the pay-and-display car park even had charging facilities for our EV (4x 22kw connectors @65p per kwh). A great place to stay - must do it again - soon!

The cottage is probably one one of the best we have stayed in.
Slightly quirky in a nice way, but it has been thoughtfully put together in all aspects of your stay. Great centre to visit the area, as well as being a lovely place in its own right. We loved it. Our party was 8 adults and 3 children aged 7, 4 & 3 who had a fabulous time with the youngest wishing she "could stay on holiday", a ringing endorsement indeed. One last recommendation is the Castle Inn who have a great team. The menu is not extensive but the food was excellent, we all thoroughly enjoyed. Would thoroughly recommend Ty Morlais to all thinking about staying in this part of the country.

The Holiday home was amazing, we would love to stay there again one day.
The only thing we couldnât get working was the shower downstairs, the house had two other showers and a bath so this didnât cause a problem. Newport had lots of nice places to eat, we liked the food from The Castle Inn, The Royal Oak, Morawelon Waterfront Bar and Restaurant and The Canteen. We tried booking a table at The Golden Lion also but it was fully booked so I would suggest booking a week or two in advance. The shops have lots to offer and the beach was within walking distance.

We had a wonderful time at Orielton Cottage with our dog Stanley.
everything you would need for a comfortable cosy break. Beautiful garden which would be perfect if the weather was nice and warm. Beautiful scenery and beaches nearby by, and a good choice of pubs too, The Ship Aground pub doesnât allow dog btw, but the Freemasons and the Sailors Safety do. Be warned a steep hill walking back from the Sailors Safety but worth it.. We would definitely recommend and would love to return. Thanks for the lovely welcome pack, much appreciated
