  Excellent stay and a lovely cottage.

  The owners have gone above and beyond and have thought of everything you could possibly need,very impressed. We were welcomed to some lovely home made cake which was a delicious treat after our long drive,a box of chocolates,biscuits and a bottle of wine, They even thought to put a pint of milk in the fridge which again was a very nice thoughtful touch. The cottage itself was cosy but felt bigger because of the openness of the design which gives it a nice airy and spacious feel. It’s a bit quirky and works well. For me it was a perfect holiday home. Even the wildlife was impressive,one morning a weasel ran across the lawn. My only slight criticism was that the bed felt slightly sunken in the middle,so not the perfect sleep but a new mattress would fix that. But overall we loved it ,very good stay and very well equipped ,I would happily book again next time I fancy a break in Devon.

  Came back on Saturday after a lovely week spent at this cottage.

  Lovely and clean inside,sofa's so comfy I fell asleep on them most nights. WiFi provided and was extremely quick. The TV had Netflix on if you have your own account, we used this on a rainy day. There are 2 parking spaces out the front which is rare these days. Road is very quiet. There is a yard out the back which is ideal for dogs. Park nearby for exercise and the beach is literally round the corner. It is not dog friendly though from 1st May onwards. We did find other dog friendly beaches which they both enjoyed. The town centre is a few minutes walk away and there are plenty of eating establishments also. Pub in harbour is very dog friendly, can also recommend Rickshaw Chinese takeaway. Would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family. The owner Nicola text us to tell us cottage was ready and checked in on us to make sure there were no problems.

  Lovely little cottage, fabulous welcome pack, had everything well thought out and spotlessly clean.

  The downside, unfortunately, is the access to the property. Had I known that it was up a steep slope with three lots of uneven steps, I would not have booked. From photograph it appears to just be up the first flight of steps (I'd be ok with that), but then there was a gravel slope, more steps (thank goodness for hand rail, the first step is quite challenging), then more loose gravel on another slope before final three steps. PHEW. I'm waiting for new knee and loose bricks and walking sticks do not mix! Could do with a new settee too. Peace and quiet was fabulous,, woken each morning by a song thrush and robin - lovely. I'd certainly recommend Wisteria Cottage but would suggest the access issue is more accurately documented and highlighted as not being suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise perfect ;)

  We really appreciated all the extra things in the cottage, especially in the kitchen, to make life a lot easier on arrival. Lots of thought from the owners into making settling in a very easy operation. The location was excellent for all beaches and fish and chip shop and Chinese take away. Also it was extremely quiet at night. The stairs were very steep, especially the top step, so a safety gate would be of benefit with young children as we had a 5 year old with us. Also the en suite shower and toilet made it difficult if the people in the twin bedroom needed the toilet in the middle of the night as otherwise they had to go downstairs. It would have been better to have had another shower in the downstairs toilet area. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable stay.

  We stayed in Broadsands for a week in April as returning guests.

  We’ve stayed in multiple dog-friendly cottages in Torbay, but this is the one we like to keep coming back to. It’s always clean, comfortable and beautifully situated just off the seafront. Morning walks on the beach, evening strolls on the pier, hearing the steam train getting ready to leave (and go there) or just going into the town centre. Everything right on your doorstep. The private parking is ideal and essential. The cottage is in perfect shape. The drive has been resurfaced, a new central heating control system has been installed since our last stay. Nicola and Phil are very easy to get in touch with and very friendly and helpful. We definitely will return to Broadsands soon.
