Head a little further to Bowness-on Windermere where you can hire a boat and explore the lake at your own pace; or enjoy the Windermere steamer, World of Beatrix Potter attraction or the aquarium. Dawn Cottage is also perfect for exploring Grizedale forest, with its treetop adventure course and woodland paths and trails. Cartmel racecourse is ideal for a day relaxing and enjoying the flat races, a great idea for a fun day out.
