Set within a pretty steading of honey-stone cottages in rural Northumberland, this charming bolthole is wonderful for a romantic or solo getaway. It’s just 1 mile from the picturesque village of Bamburgh, home to friendly pubs, independent shops and the fascinating RNLI Grace Darling Museum. The iconic Bamburgh Castle and the sweeping sands of Bamburgh Beach are a little further beyond (1.5 miles). Nearby, Seahouses (4 miles) offers traditional seaside fun, quirky gift shops and famous boat trips to the Farne Islands. Follow the scenic coastal route south to Beadnell (6 miles), Embleton (10.5 miles), Craster (14 miles, renowned for its kippers), Warkworth (23 miles) and Amble (24 miles). Head north to discover Budle Bay (2 miles), Holy Island (16 miles) and the historic town of Berwick (19 miles).
Upon arrival, step through the front door into a bright hallway leading to the other rooms. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area forms the heart of the cottage, an airy space with a lovely lofty ceiling and wooden beams. Sink into one of two comfortable sofas and pop on the Smart TV for a cosy evening in. The fully equipped kitchen contains all the necessary appliances for meal prep plus a Nespresso coffee machine for your morning cuppa. There’s a dining table for four – ideal for leisurely meals after a day of exploring. When it’s time for some shuteye, head to the spacious king-size bedroom with its luxury linens, blackout blinds and direct access to the garden through a glazed door. The bathroom is tiled in natural Travertine marble and has a bath with a shower attachment, and a skylight for natural light as you wash.
In good weather, make the most of the enclosed garden with a lawn, shrubs and a paved patio with a table and chairs, perfect for al fresco drinks. Ample parking is provided in a covered carport directly opposite the cottage.
