The only two comments I would make the toilet although ok was small and tight against wall I had to sit sideways on it. And the garden gate took a nack to get it to close as a result I had an escapy. Otherwise fine better than average on a lot of fronts.

My sister and I had a wonderful one week stay at no 6.It’s right next to a railway station which was great for a day trip to Morecombe. (Please be aware there is a bridge to the opposite platform so not wheelchair accessible.)The cottage is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. As with many cottages of this type the stairs are rather steep, but the two bedrooms upstairs are lovely. It was very quiet there. It’s about a mile from the main village of Clapham. Bit of a walk, but there is a footpath all the way then you have a busy main road to cross. The village shop is well stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pub hours are irregular so I would recommend calling them beforehand. I would say we needed the car. There are other cottages there which I like as you don’t feel too isolated but it was still very quiet. The heating is controlled by the owners and comes on in the morning and evening. We stayed in one day so I sent a text to the owner and they put it on for us during the day. We did use the log burner but it uses a lot of wood! I would have prefered to be able to control the heating myself but the owner responded quickly when I asked them to pop the heating on. TV is a smart TV so that was helpful. I was able to sign into my Netflix. There’s WiFi too. There’s a washing machine but no tumble dryer and it rained all week so we had to dry our stuff on the airer. The dishwasher and Tassimo coffee machine were a bonus. Fridge with small ice box. The garden is sweet although it rained so we didn’t use it. I imagine it’s lovely in the summer. In conclusion:I would highly recommend this little cottage for an active couple with another adult or child. It’s in a beautiful part of the country. Not too far from Lancaster one way and Skipton the other by train or car. It was immaculately clean. Particularly liked: The cleanliness, nice thoughtful touches such as starter pack of dish and laundry pods, wood, kindling and firefighters, tea and coffe etc plus milk in the fridge. Even a bunch of daffodils to welcome us! Disadvantages:It’s further from the main village and pub than expected. Steep stairs.
