Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs close by to the town, providing a good excuse to get on your boots and head off for a walk, there are vineyards and homemade ice cream suppliers nearby. Guests are also very close to the NT property Powys Castle, with 3 others within 45 minutes, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park. The Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway, Montgomery Canal, and Lake Vyrnwy are all local and well worth a visit. Quad biking, paintballing and horse riding are all available locally, and watersports can be found at Bala Lake and in Llangollen, a 40-minute drive. Historic Shrewsbury is 30-minute drive, and the west Wales coastline is approximately a 1 hour drive. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1¼ miles.

We’ve just had the best long weekend at this beautiful house and honestly didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived, it had absolutely everything we could possibly need.There were 14 of us staying, including two 1-year-old twins and our border collie, and the house catered perfectly for all of us. The enclosed garden was ideal, completely safe and secure for the dog to run around freely, which gave us real peace of mind.The cinema room was such a fantastic feature. It worked perfectly as a playroom for the twins during the day, giving them their own safe space to enjoy, and in the evenings it turned into the ultimate sports room for the men to relax and watch the games on the large TV. It really suited everyone.The pool was a brilliant addition and beautifully warm it made the weekend feel extra special and was enjoyed by all of us. The whole house is so well equipped and thoughtfully set up; you can tell a lot of care has gone into making sure guests have everything they could want.We rent a large house every year as a group, and without a doubt this has been our favourite one so far – which says a lot! We’re already talking about booking again.A huge thank you to Gavin, his wife, and Owen. They were all so lovely and truly went above and beyond to make this stay the best one yet. We couldn’t have asked for more.

The house is comfortable, with sociable spaces downstairs. The kitchen was poorly equipped, perhaps there is an assumption people will eat out or eat take away. The dishwasher had not drained from the last use, upstairs toilets would not flush properly. There were inadequate instructions / guidance. The house is in need of some TLC. However the owner was very responsive & helpful, fixing the issues promptly. The oven definitely needs replacing.
